Wonderful excursion to see more than Perth city. The Pinnacles are stunning. If you pick this tour, go with Peter. He is professional, well educated and very knowledgable about the flora and fauna of WA, as well as the history of the area.you will love his discourse on the moon and the stars and the earth while looking at the stars at night at the Pinnacles.
Best and unforgettable experience. From meet up point, drop off point, transport and food left us an amazing trip.
Highly recommend booking the sunset‑and‑night tour. Watching golden sunset fall over the limestone pillars, then stargazing under clear dark skies away from city lights is absolutely spectacular. This is the best way to experience the Pinnacles, far better than visiting only in daytime. A truly unforgettable experience.
A truly enjoyable afternoon and evening. We were lucky that the rain held off for the tour and were also lucky that the overcast sky provided us with brilliant sunset photos across the Pinnacles. Fortunately, we were able to stop under a clear night sky on the way back, and had magnificent views of the stars without any light pollution to spoil the moment. The guide was helpful, but probably should have done his homework on which planets and moon were going to be visible on the night of the tour. The communication from Chloe was always first class, but it's a pity that East Perth was not in the pickup area for such a small and intimate tour. Would recommend this tour.
Very well run with extremely good guide (Peter). He was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic.
I did Lumineer Adventure Tours’ Pinnacles Sunset Dinner and Stargazing Tour on 9 August 2026 and thought it was excellent from start to finish. Our guide, Peter, was experienced, extremely well organised and approachable, with a great sense of humour. Throughout the journey he provided interesting commentary about Perth, the surrounding region and the places we were visiting. Our first activity was sandboarding at the Lancelin Sand Dunes. The dunes are relatively modest (about 40 metres high), so they are ideal for beginners, and Peter explained the equipment and technique clearly. Everyone had plenty of opportunities to have a go. If you have sandboarded on far bigger dunes elsewhere (e.g., 100+ metre dunes), you might find this part a little tame. We then made a short roadside nature stop, where Peter showed us some of the distinctive local plants and trees, explaining how they are adapted to bushfires. The highlight was the Pinnacles Desert. We had around an hour to explore this extraordinary landscape independently around sunset, with plenty of time for photographs in a quieter part of the park. While we explored, Peter prepared a simple but enjoyable BBQ dinner (hotdogs, meat, salad, etc) and set up the astronomy equipment. After sunset, Peter gave us an interesting introduction to the night sky while we ate. Despite fairly cloudy conditions, we could still see the Milky Way and Venus, with one large telescope and lots of binoculars available for closer views. An excellent, very professionally organised tour and a thoroughly enjoyable day. Peter was an outstanding guide and I would strongly recommend the experience.
I was a little nervous about this tour because we have a two year old and you just never know if they're going to be into something or not, but it was a great experience. Minor problem with the pick up but otherwise a great trip.
What a great way to experience the Pinnacles, along with a bit of fun sand boarding along the way. It’s a long day but the view and the photography opportunities are worth it, and the stargazing through a telescope is an added bonus. Highly recommended.
We purchased a self-drive excursion to the Pinnacles Desert directly from the website from Italy, therefore without the transport service from Perth. Meeting at the parking lot where they showed up on time. We followed their minibus inside the desert until we stopped at a spot. We wandered around this spectacular place freely for about an hour; it feels like walking on Mars. They set up a delicious barbecue and a series of spectacular side dishes. During the barbecue, they then gave some general information about the Cosmos. When night falls, the view of the Milky Way is something wonderful; there is a telescope available with which we observed the Southern Cross. On the staff, there is a guy who is very good at setting up smartphones for night photos; the photo on the pinnacles with the Milky Way behind is worth the not-inexpensive price of the excursion. Fantastic.
The Stargazing was a wonderful, wonderful experience. The coach captain, David is such a great host.. He was very professional in his services and willing to go an extra mile which we appreciated. His knowledge of the milky way and which stars to point us to is impressive. His cooking at the Pinnacle was fabulous and the amount of food was more than enough for all of us. The only complaint we had is - the seats and leg room is too squeezy, our legs could hardly move once we are seated. It's a fully packed group thus every seat was taken up. We are glad that the group on the whole was a cooperative and cohesive one though we don't know each other.
