Description
Perugia is the city of inverted views: to go up to the city you have to go down into the basement of the hill, you must always be on the move to get the best of every corner, you will never find a fixed point from which to have an overview of the whole ... but then the city turns out to be sweet… like a kiss of chocolate and hazelnut.

Rocca Paolina
We will start from Piazza Italia to go down to the Rocca Paolina, an entire underground district buried by the papal will that will transport us back and forth in time, from the Etruscans to Garibaldi and La Belle Epoque. We will see the Porta Marzia, ancient southern entrance to the Etruscan city with remains inscriptions and papal coat of arms.
Corso Vannucci
Then we will continue to the living room of the city, Corso Vannucci, dedicated to Perugino, a painter whose masterpiece (the Collegio del Cambio) remains unique throughout Italy: it is a 1500 bank completely frescoed by the artist. In the Corso the terraces of the bars, the windows of the beautiful clothing shops and those of typical products alternate.
Piazza IV Novembre
We will arrive in Piazza IV Novembre where the Fontana Maggiore proudly dominates, a compendium of popular wisdom of the thirteenth century, next to the Cathedral of San Lorenzo, the Palazzo dei Priori and the Palazzo dei Notari. In the square we play with the “corner views”, we will go around it to take some surprising photos
Porta Sole
We will end up at the Porta Sole viewpoint and here we will see another peculiarity of Perugia and that is how the city is set in the landscape of soft green hills covered with silvery olive groves.
Fontana Maggiore
While we will return to Piazza IV Novembre I will tell you the story of Luisa Spagnoli and her most famous creation: the Bacio Perugina

A gem of a city
Our guide Paola was awesome and showed us the wonderful history of this ancient city. Especially impressive was the Etruscan gate from 2300 years ago.

A no frills tour
The was exactly as described in the ad no more and no less. Our guide Simone was knowledgeable and her English was excellent. She is very business like and direct. The tour started a little late but ended on time. We learned a lot about Perugia.

Perugia is a beautiful city with a varied and fascinating history. Our guide, Stefano was extremely knowledgeable and provided an entertaining, humorous and informative tour of this wonderful place. Perugia is a fascinating city, with a very long and fascinating history. Our guide, Isabella was outstanding. She is very knowledgeable, charming, and excellent at answering all of our questions. I would not hesitate to have her as a guide on a future trip to Umbria.

The beautiful and erudite Mrs. Begonia took us around the city illustrating the history of the uses and customs of Perugia, with interesting observations on the structural and urban changes of a city rich in female entrepreneurship art.
