Pena Palace and Park Entry Tickets in Sintra

Description
To get to the steep slope constructed by the Baron of Eschwege that leads to the castle-like structure, one must travel via the eastern portion of the Park of Pena. The palace itself is divided into two wings: the 19th-century wing constructed by King Ferdinand II and the former Manueline monastery of the Order of St. Jerome. A third architectural component, a fanciful representation of an imaginary castle with walkable walls that includes battlements, watchtowers, an entrance tunnel, and even a drawbridge, encircles these wings.

Worth a visit just for the gorgeous park and walk up to the palace. Absolutely stunning.
The palace and the gardens are worth it but it is overcrowded, in line, in short, the more you pack them in, the more you get rich... very sad... way too expensive for the time spent... better to try off-season?
Expensive maps, lots of waiting, nothing to see. Rarely visited such an overrated attraction.
Take this as your sign to NOT BOOK and listen to all the bad reviews! My experience with this seller was horrible. I never received my tickets, just the voucher!!! The admission fee is overpriced (original tickets are €20)! Get your tickets somewhere else. The policy states that the seller will send the tickets over WhatsApp within 20 hours of the trip. The cancellation policy states that returns must be made within 24 hours of the trip. This means that if you do not receive the tickets, you cannot cancel and get your money back! I attempted to contact the seller myself over WhatsApp through texts and calls, and never got a response. Would love to report this seller as a scammer and receive my money back for voucher #1431424399
A bit expensive for the castle tour. Not much of anything exceptional inside and a fairly quick visit. The castle grounds and the park, accessible with the park ticket only, are sufficient. The provider chosen by Tripadvisor at the time of booking informed us the evening before by email that our tour appointment had been moved up by 1 hour. We had to reorganize our day because we had planned other things, and that without any way to understand why!
On the 5th July 2026 we travelled there but when we got we were told it was closed due to fire risk and haven't received a refund
It was wonderful, and not as crowded for a a weekend like we thought it would be. We could stay as long as we wanted, and it was gorgeous in and around the palace. It took us longer to get up to the gate than we thought since we thought the gate was a lot lower, so we were late for our entry time, but no one said anything and they happily let us in. Thank you!
The worst experience I’ve had using this kind of system. The tickets did not arrive and non of the links worked. I thought I had downloaded them as it added to my wallet but on arrival I was told that was a redemption voucher. I then tried the online chat as we were told me had 30 minutes to get to the entrance that was a 30 minute walk away otherwise we couldn’t get in. It was also the first slot of the day so we couldn’t get there any earlier. I tried to phone the provider and it would not Call. After 20 minutes someone finally sent the tickets on the help chat. This meant we had to run a 30 minute walk in 8 minutes. The whole experience made it so stressful and I just think the support was awful! Will not use them again. When I spoke to support after they kept saying the tickets had been sent. They had not all the links did not work. I also think it’s discriminatory that you cannot call and speak to anyone!
Breathtaking experience! Absolutely would recommend!
★☆☆☆☆ We had bought tickets in advance for a visit in Sintra. After the purchase, we received an email with the option to add the ticket to our Wallet. On the spot, however, it turned out that this was not a valid admission ticket, but merely a confirmation. As a result, we had to discuss extensively at the box office, which took a lot of time. By the time everything was cleared, our reserved time slot had expired. We had no choice but to buy tickets again, and these only gave access to the park, not the castle. A very frustrating experience due to unclear communication and a misleading ticket display. We recommend that you check very clearly in advance whether you actually have a valid admission ticket, so that you do not experience the same thing.
