Good tour, very bad guide
The experience itself was good, the trekking is challenging but with relatively good physical condition it is feasible. The view from the top is beautiful as well. Here the problem was the guide. Eduardo is not a bad guide per se, but the descent was disorganized. We arrived among the first and waited more than an hour because people kept cutting the line and he did nothing about it. Later, whether due to fatigue or the heat, he was very unpleasant and offensive when giving instructions for the rope descent. It is regrettable that his attitude tarnished the experience. I recommend this tour, but with any other guide other than him.

If you’re considering it, please do it!
Me and my friend booked this hike and we went with Edu. This was definitely the best thing we did in Rio. Everybody was super nice and helpful. The views were so worth the hike. Bring more water and food than you think you’ll need!

Amazing experience with friends and tour guide Eduardo and his colleagues who were with us the whole way . The tour guide shared alot of photos and videos of the trip. I highly recommend it.

Unforgettable tour
This tour really exceeded our expectations. Not only for the absolutely spectacular view, but also for the experience with guides Edu and Yan. They were very kind, especially with my cousin who made the trail slower, assisting in all stages. We felt quite safe and the photos/films they made are breathtaking. Super recommend the walk!

I broke my tibial plateau on the way down
What an experience of highs and lows! After an incredible hike and climb, I injured myself on the descent a little ways below the Carrasquiera. Didn't know it at the time but I fractured my knee. Eduardo was so helpful and kind, but he really couldn't carry me. It was such an ordeal with so much steep trail to go, but he stayed with me as I limped along hugging his shoulder. Finally, another guide appeared on the scene who piggybacked me down the mountain as much as he could. It was a very emotional day having broken my knee doing what I love with my girlfriend on her 50th birthday -- only the second day in Rio. We flew home the next day and I had knee surgery and am recovering. I hope I'll be able to do this again someday and will hope to do it with Eduardo!

Highly recommended
The tour was very well organized and our guide Tarzan was a 10. The climb is not for everyone, you have to ridge-walk and in some sections climb with a rope, but the guide helps you and makes it easy for you. The views are spectacular. I highly recommend it

Great hike, even greater views!
This was a physically challenging hike, with elements of scrambling and rope-assisted climbing, but that all made it more enjoyable, and the views from the top made every step worth it. Expert guidance from Edu was critical to help us navigate our way up, and he took amazing individual photos and videos of us all once we were up there. If you're looking for something physically challenging with a great payoff, this is it!

Challenging, but extremely rewarding adventure
This is maybe the best hike you can do in Rio, and absolutely the best view of the city. Our guides Edu and Fernando were incredible; super friendly, accommodating and took all the photos that you wanted throughout the hike.
Not for the faint of heart, the path is not well maintained as its right in the heart of the Tijuca Forest. Expect lots of roots, rocks and occasional tight spaces. Bring lots of water and good shoes.
The view is breathtaking and even intimidating; if you’re squeamish about heights maybe reconsider this trek. Even as someone who isn’t scared of heights, this tested me. 360 views of Rio and all its highlights, including Pedra Bonita, Cristo Redentor and Sao Conrado Beach. On a good day you can see all the way across Guanabara Bay.
Can’t recommend this enough, truly a must-do thing in Rio, and worth all the effort!

It was a difficult but...
It was a difficult but well worth it hike. Our guide instructed us along the way on how to climb over rocks and repel up and down a few places along the mountain. The views on top were one of a kind and our guide took the time to take some great photos of all of us.
