Treat yourself to an exquisite private French wine- and cheese-tasting experience in Paris! Get an authentic taste of life in Paris and begin your French culinary experience. Your friendly host, a fully trained oenologist (an expert in winemaking), will make you feel at home and teach you all about wine and cheese pairing. As you savor four different wines, learn about the art of wine tasting, the different varieties of grapes used in the winemaking process, and how to use your sense of sight, smell and taste to fully appreciate the flavors. You’ll also sample three different varieties of French cheeses. Your expert host will explain how different types of cheese are categorized by their rinds, such as floral rind cheese, like Camembert and Brie, and hard rind cheese, like Emmental and Comté. Discover the techniques used to store and savor cheese while enjoying your cheese tasting. You’ll leave with newfound wine and cheese knowledge to impress your friends back home!

Our experience tasting wines and cheeses was fabulous and I recommend it 100%. We were a family group of 10 people at the Polidor restaurant. It was exciting to have this tasting in a famous place in Paris and where movies have been filmed, such as “Midnight in Paris”. Luis was the winemaker at our session. We loved his simple way of explaining everything. A truly great teacher and very knowledgeable. We all came away fascinated by everything that guided us and helped us learn. Now we have a much better idea of how to identify wines by their aromas, have a rough idea of the age of the wine and how to combine them with food to enhance the flavor of both the wine and the dish, creating harmony.

We enjoyed the attention to detail and tons of information given about tasting, experimenting with nuances of flavors, and the atmosphere.
<p>Our teacher/apartment owner was extremely knowledgable and made the whole experience quite entertaining. This was in a wonderfully quaint Paris apartment and we felt like we were visiting our distant relative. A great experience---highly recommend---especially if you get Myriam...she was terrific!</p>

This was a very pleasant experience – the explanation given concerning the wine and cheese was very enjoyable, but with the tasting experience, a real joy to the senses. A 5* experience that helped me to discover new flavors and an innate capacity to combine them, that I was not aware!
Great Small Group Experience! Our wine tasting had only 5 people in our group, so it was ideal to learn from the guide and to meet the other travelers. We really enjoyed our oenologist / guide, Miriam. She was very knowledgeable about both wine and cheese, but also made us very comfortable in expressing our own opinions of the wines. As she said ‘there are no wrong answers’ – which made us all comfortable. The wines selected (three reds and three whites) represented a broad range of styles and tastes. Tasting them blind also was very fun. The cheeses (as always) were phenomenal. At the end, we re-tasted each wine after having the cheese and were surprised to see how much our initial impressions changed. We also liked being invited into the Miriam’s home to do this tasting. This really gives you a much more local experience rather than a commercial tasting room. I would love to do more of these local experience tours in Paris! Highly recommended!
