Palazzo Vecchio
Come and visit Florence and its history, taking a dip in the history of this city and going back many centuries. The ticket will allow you to visit Palazzo Vecchio, which was built from the end of the 1200s and was the second seat of the Florentine Republic. In 1500, following the political rise of the Medici family, who became lords and masters of Florence, the Palazzo became the residence of Grand Duke Cosimo I de Medici. Finally, in 1800 following the unity of Italy and during the period of Florence the capital, it also became the seat of Parliament. Inside you can visit the Government Halls of the Republic and the private rooms of the Granducale family renovated and embellished by the architect and chronicler Giorgio Vasari, appreciated by the Grand Duke. The main attraction of the Palazzo is the Salone dei 500, entirely frescoed by Giorgio Vasari, as well as the halls and apartments of the Grand Duchess Eleonora di Toledo. Scale and colour
Having seen photographs thought it would be nice to see but the scale, colour is something to be seen in true light. Would be happy to spend another day there.

Fantastic views from the top of the tower.
The view from the top of the tower is spectacular, especially of the cathedral. It was a lot quieter inside the tower, than expected, which was an added bonus for us too. Well worth a visit.

Useful for short trips...
Travel time: Early October.... If you want to visit exactly on point and day. An absolute must. At short notice, everything was booked up. With a day's notice and tickets ready, this is much more relaxed....

The only line you skip is buying your tickets! Buy them there.
The only line you skip is the one to buy the ticket. Do yourself a favor and just buy it when you arrive. Let my loss be your lesson. Seriously buy the ticket at the location. You also have to walk a block away to get the tickets. Don’t. Just don’t.

Better make a ticket on site
My 1 star rating does not apply to the palazzo vecchio tower which was really super nice you must have seen it. The 1 star was for the Viator Enterprise where I paid exactly twice 25€ online and the ticket said 12.50€, which is exactly what I would have paid on the spot!!! So my tip, make the tickets on site and not at Viator!

Saved time
I was so happy together a last minute timed ticket to be able to visit since otherwise it appeared sold out and the timed ticket saved me precious time.

Don’t recommend
I booked for a 930 appointment it said to be there by 915. What the booking failed to mention is that the doors to the Duomo don’t open until 1015 so we didn’t even get in until after 11. Not to mention that the audio devices we were given to listen to the guide continuously cut out - so we could barely hear our guide.

Interesting. Excellent. Doesn’t need long to walk around but well worth visiting. The tower wasn’t accessible to the top the day we went even though we had tickets but it was still good to be able to go up as far as we did
