Over Night Camel Safari

During our journey in Jaisalmer, the safari was a life experience ! We had a private Jeep tour into the desert, around the lake, villages and old fort thanks to our driver / guide / dj ! Then we crossed the desert on a camel with Shambu, who later also cooked a very tasty diner for us. We had the best spot for the sunset, then a beautiful diner under the stars. What a day !

While in Jaisalmer, we chose a less explored desert safari, and it turned into one of those rare experiences that stays with you long after you return. Camping under the open sky, I realised no photograph could ever capture the beauty of the dunes around us. Sleeping beneath a blanket of stars, spotting the occasional shooting star, and eating food cooked slowly over fire all felt almost unreal, like stepping into a dream. The silence of the night, untouched by crowds, the vast stillness of the Thar in all its quiet grandeur, and the warmth and care extended by Lalji and Pappuji made the experience deeply special. It’s the kind of memory that settles gently into you and stays for life.

Highly recommended! This camel trek was the highlight of our India trip. The food was tasty and the beds were clean and comfortable. Sleeping under the stars and waking up to the desert sunrise was an experience like no other! i were on a very tight schedule and Shree Ganesham Tour, made the whole experience completely hassle-free from pick-up at the bus to drop -off at the train station.

I really enjoyed all the services provided by Shree Ganesham Travel, I was on a 3-week tour with them through some of the most magical Indian cities, always feeling safe and treated like royalty. Beautiful and easy going experience with guide Lalu and Papu (both speaking some English and are very kind and funny). Kind Naru from Secret House organised it. They took care of everything, we visited some nice old fort and village, an oasis and rode the camel twice for a little while. We had the chance to sleep in the desert with a little bit of cultural programme before a dinner and bonfire in the dunes. It was very nice and they took good care of us but also let us have privacy to enjoy the moments. (Sometimes there seemed to be a bit of miscommunication on time schedule -we felt a bit rushed for a few moments-eg breakfast and cultural programme) The night in the desert is very cold but incredible stars to watch and a bonfire and blankets they provide kept us warm. Definitely worth it and a great start in the new year. Thanks 🙏🏽 Over all it was a great experience with a decent price, booked straight at the hotel for better deals and individual wishes. The Secret house let us have a shower the next day and a room to change and rest for a while. Amazing hospitality, good service and clean rooms/terrace. Super nice staff. The two-day desert trip was a great experience. Starry sky with the Geminid shooting stars and the thin crescent moon after the new moon. Dhumba, the camel guide, was extremely reliable and attentive, I can highly recommend this tour.

We had a really good experience with Papu and Lalu doing a 4WD safari. We did an overnight safari for me and my partner only which included visiting many local villages and eventually settling down for the night at some amazing sand dunes after watching a beautiful sunset. Papu and Lalu made us 3 fantastic meals during the experience and were always attentive and chatty. Thank you both! This was organised by our hotel Secret House Boutique Hotel in Jaisalmer.

A very appreciated experience, a team very attentive and aware of its environment and the camels that it handles with care. We started the experience with a visit to a village, an oasis and a fort (very close to the Pakistani border), followed by a camel ride in the dunes, which was a very great experience, and we finished with a delicious dinner (prepared in the desert!) and a night under the stars, and I can tell you, there were a lot of stars!
