This was our first time trying one of the outdoor escape room games in this series, and we had a blast! We weren’t sure what to expect, and as we went through, it was fun to see how the game interacted with the real world, including visits to long-standing landmarks, statues, and murals! The contents of the box and phone cues made the game interactive, and all the puzzles were a perfect level of challenging and fun. It took a few hours in total, and everything was walkable within the Little Italy area. Would definitely recommend!

I came across Escapely on Instagram and as an adventure and puzzle lover, was immediately interested. My partner and I went on a Saturday during the Little Italy farmer's market and made a whole day of solving the puzzles and taking breaks to visit cafes and have lunch along the way! It was such a cool way to experience a more thorough exploration of one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in San Diego. As for the puzzle itself, the clues and storyline were clever and well-thought-out but my favorite parts were the difficulty and hints. We were able to solve most of the puzzles on our own, but there were times that we needed a push in the right direction. I always find that escape room hints are too obvious rather than a gentle nudge, but Escapely's hints are perfectly tiered; they start simple and get progressively more helpful. I've recommended Escapely to all of my San Diego friends and can't wait to explore other cities!
We had so much fun doing this activity together. The combination of real life evidence (clues) and those included in the game were great and we really had to work together to figure out the solutions. Loved the component of using our phone as well. The puzzles were definitely challenging but the hints provided were there to help if needed. We definitely did not plan enough time. Next time we will take a whole day! We learned a lot about Little Italy. I have passed by many of the places before never taking the time to stop and learn about them. Midway through we stopped to eat! So many great restaurant choices! Plus music was being played at the last escapology destination! We would highly recommend this adventure!
Glad our team included 6 adults of varying ages and life experiences to solve the puzzles. Don’t hesitate to use the hints.
I had an amazing time with Escapely’s Little Italy adventure. I’ve done quite a few escape rooms before, but this was my first “escape the city” game. The puzzles were tough but fair. The hint system kept things moving without spoiling the fun, and every solve felt earned. What really stood out, though, was the real-world interaction. I was jotting notes at Mr. Moto Pizza when a stranger sat down and joined me on a puzzle. That kind of unexpected connection made the whole experience very memorable. Parking in Little Italy can be a hassle on farmers' market days. I recommend planning your parking in advance. If you love puzzles, storytelling, or exploring neighborhoods in a new way, Escapely is worth it. I can’t wait to see what they come up with next.
Love Escapely games. Great way to spend time with the family, be challenged, and see and experience the Little Italy neighborhood in SD in a unique way.
This was a ton of fun. It's not so much an escape room, but more of a puzzle you must solve while outdoors. For this puzzle, it's Little Italy! We had a great time exploring the neighborhood, and using certain landmarks (manly I was unfamiliar with) to try and solve all the riddles. Our friends had a blast. Highly recommend!
Really enjoyed the game. Found everything and had fun doing so. My nephew LOVES a particular play and guessed a clue just by the reference. He was so jazzed. We loved learning some history! Thanks for a fun day Cheryl
We were given this as a gift from my sister. It exceeded my expectations! We felt like the clues were satisfying to solve and a good skill level. The hints will slowly help you if you need it. We enjoyed turning it into a date night - we got dinner in little Italy while we did the first clue then had a drink later while we figured out another. We’re planning to buy different cities for friends as gifts
Our first Escapely adventure was pretty much perfect! We were gifted the kit and went out as a family (2 adults, an 11 and 13 year old) to try it. The puzzles were the exact right level of difficulty. None of them seemed obvious at first glance but we were able to get all of them eventually with almost no hints. The variety of different puzzle types and different knowledge required was a real plus, as it let the kids contribute just as much as the adults. The timing was just right. My favorite part was that for each puzzle once we figured out the right answer, it was blatantly obvious that it must be the right one. There was never any feeling of playing guess and check with vague clues, as we've encountered in other escape rooms in the past. We've put together similar adventures ourselves before (for birthday parties and other events) and appreciate just how much time and energy goes into doing so. Your version of this concept is truly professionally done and (considering the cost of in-person escape rooms) well worth the price. Now we know what we'll be gifting to friends and family for the next holiday!
