I was so lucky to have a personal wine tour with my amazing guide Kai. It was in a neighborhood outside of downtown Osaka where small plots of wine grapes are scattered between homes and up a slope. Kashimoto Winery is over a century old and has an amazing history. I learned the history of wine preparation, storage and changes over the years. I was also so fortunate to meet Makiko the current winemaker who answered all of my questions. Finally, I ended with a tasting of three wines and of course bought a bottle for home. We also walked around the neighborhood and learned the history of the area. I’m so grateful I signed up for this experience and will definitely cherish it as one of my highlights of Osaka.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a thoughtful and heartfelt review. Reading that this experience became one of the highlights of your time in Osaka truly means the world to us. This is exactly the kind of memory we hope every guest takes home. We're especially happy to hear that Kai helped make the tour feel personal and memorable. Sharing the history of the vineyard, the traditions of Japanese winemaking, and the unique character of this quiet neighborhood is something he is genuinely passionate about. It means so much to know that his enthusiasm made such a positive impression on you. We're also delighted that you had the opportunity to meet Makiko, the current winemaker. Being able to hear directly from the person who continues over a century of winemaking tradition is a very special part of the experience, and we're glad you enjoyed learning about the craftsmanship and dedication behind every bottle. It’s wonderful to hear that you enjoyed the wine tasting, found a bottle to take home, and appreciated exploring a hidden side of Osaka that many visitors never have the chance to experience. We hope that whenever you open that bottle in the future, it brings back warm memories of the vineyard, the beautiful surroundings, and your time in Japan. Thank you once again for choosing to join us and for sharing such kind words. We will be sure to pass your wonderful feedback on to Kai and Makiko—they will both be genuinely touched to know how much this experience meant to you. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back to Osaka someday for another unforgettable journey through Japan's food, wine, and culture.
