Olympic National Park Day Tour from Seattle
Description
Olympic National Park is well known for having several different ecosystems to explore: subalpine forest, wildflower meadows, temperate rain-forest, and the rugged Pacific Shore. This twelve hour tour allows you to sample each of these systems with the added advantage of having an experienced guide to answer any questions that may arise. Come explore tide pools along the coastal beaches, roam among old-growth forest, trek atop mountain ridges with breathtaking vistas and stand by glacier-birthed rivers and lakes. The tour begins on a leisurely ferry boat ride over the Puget Sound to the Olympic Peninsula. The exact itinerary will be curated by the tour guide however our first stop will usually find us at Hurricane Ridge where you will hike to an incredible view of the valley below and the snow-capped mountains in the distance. We will move on to Crescent Lake and the seasonally Sol Duc Valley, and a sandy beach along the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Please plan on walking six miles.

Washington state has the largest ferry system in the country connecting islands and the Kitsap peninsula with the Seattle area. great views on the way to Bainbridge Island. there is a galley for breakfast and coffee. Art. restrooms.
a quaint island in view of Seattle. Winslow the main town and a fast transition from urban to rural.
a charming old lumber town with distinctive northeast architecture.
one of the world's longest floating bridges and a good opportunity to see porpoises in Puget Sound.
This is where we stop for food. The Longhouse deli- full-service deli, souvenirs and everything you will need to snack on for the day. restrooms.
The Gateway to the Olympics. a town mentioned in the twilight series.
breath taking views of mountains and the sea. we hike here about a mile along a ridgeline. a 5 star attraction in the park.
Optional stop depending on the tide: Sea-stack and tide pools with a great beach. If tide or time tables are not conducive to stop at Salt Creek Recreation Area a stop at Dungeness Spit will replace it. Dungeness spit is also a great beach and wildlife sanctuary. Hike and enjoy.
A gorgeous, glacier carved lake that is so clear you pear deep in the lake. A national park lodge is located here and a nice place to relax if not going on a hike to Marymere Falls and old growth trees. Kayaks and other boats are available to rent if you choose not to hike.

Optional park stop. Fall is most likely time to stop. A very pretty waterfall, old growth forest with with areas exhibiting temperate rain forest. Seasonal Salmon runs too, in autumn. hiking or if you bring your swimsuit you can soak in hot springs.

We go back to Seattle by ferry and after a long day we often see the sunset over the waters. Seeing Seattle loom larger and larger is a great way to end the day. They serve beer and Ivars's clam chowder as well on board.

- Beach areas have uneven surfaces and it is recommended to bring walking sticks if you lose balance easily or have issues with hips, knees or ankles.
- Bring extra socks, and waterproof hiking boots are recommended. bring layers of clothing as we go to mountains, beaches and forests all in one day and temperature and weather conditions vary.

The entire tour was very nice with beautiful views. For the hike at Hurricane Ridge, the scenic views were amazing. I recommend taking a bottle of water, sunscreen and a hat for this hike.

Just did this wonderful tour yesterday and we are headed for Alaska on a cruise today but didn’t want to wait till I got home to just give praises for this amazing tour and company! I had done the Mt Rainer tour last year with this tour operator and it was terrific.. this year was no exception!! Pickup was a minute from our hotel .. and even though it was early because it’s a full day tour we started the day off on time .. a quick text from the operator to verify pickup times and info was sent and I had spoken to them a few days prior … very professional and friendly! Our guide was Kevin and he was a pleasure from the start!! Friendly and personable and so knowledgeable about the area and during our day about all the beautiful things we saw on our tour. We took a ferry to the peninsula and that was enjoyable.. then we drove to several areas of the park and surrounding parts.. they stop at a local store and you are able to buy sandwiches and snacks for the day … they supply water though out the trip .. frequent rest stops for bathroom breaks.. its a long day and we got on at 650am .. returned to our hotel around 8 pm.. but it is so worth it.. Olympic National Park is huge and we didn’t even see all of it .. it was so much better and enjoyable to see the highlights with someone who was knowledgeable and just amazing about guiding us through short hikes and sights… If you are in the area please consider seeing this amazing national park.. and be sure to use this company.. they are wonderful!! And thank you again Kevin for sharing all your knowledge and for giving us an unforgettable experience.. we appreciate your kindness !! ( shout out to Lucus too who was our guide last year!! He’s great too !! )

Kevin showed us a number of beautiful sites on the Olympic Peninsula. The hike to Marymere Falls was a scenic after lunch hike. Lake Crescent was beautiful. Kevin kept us entertained with Sasquatch tales and other Washington state highlights. Loved rock scrambling at Salt Creek SP.

We had an amazing day exploring Olympic National Park with Kevin! He was an excellent driver—safe, professional, and incredibly communicative throughout the day.
