Absolutely LOVED our Guide! He has 30 years' experience and was extremely knowledgeable. They picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel which made it easy for my dad who was in a wheelchair. As we drove to Mt. Vernon, we were able to learn some of the interesting history of Alexandria and even stop at one of the churches. Since this was a private tour, we were able to go at our own pace. We had reserved lunch at the Mount Vernon Inn, and everyone loved their meal. The guide picked us back up at the designated time and showed us around Mt. Vernon. I would highly recommend trying this option if you want to go to Mount Vernon.

Visit the colorful and historic Old Town Alexandria and the historic former home of George Washington on this unmissable private tour of the two. Walk in the footsteps of Washington with this sensational five-hour excursion from the capital. You’ll be picked up in a luxurious, climate-controlled vehicle while your guide explains the significance of some of the city’s most recognizable monuments. A short drive brings you to the candy-colored architecture of Alexandria, where you can take a tour of some monuments notable to the former president – including the Masonic Temple and Christ Church. Arguably the birthplace of the city itself, George Washington’s former estate is located just 13 miles from the capital’s center. my sister and I went on the Alexandria , Mount Vernon tour Elvis was our guide. He did an Excellent job.He was so informative. Elvis made it fun. Would recommend to anyone. Tonya was our driver, she even acted like she enjoyed it.
Chris was a great host and tour guide. He was a walking encyclopedia! We loved the sights of DC, Alexandria and touring Mt. Vernon. We were a little disappointed by the construction at Mt. Vernon. Perhaps the tour of the home will improve once the construction is completed! Your description of the tour said we would see the “Masonic Memorial dedicated to the First President”. But when I asked the guide, he said we would not be going there!! I was at the Masonic Memorial 51 years ago and really wanted to see it again! Big Disappointment!!☹️
We apologize for your negative experience. We have updated the product page and the Mansion itself will be done in 2026 in time for the 250th July 4th Celebration!
Dion was an amazing and engaging guide. We got so much more than a tour of Mount Vernon - we got a history of the area of Alexandria, our first president and his complicated life, and of Washington DC itself. We enjoyed this tour tremendously. If you can do private, I will always recommend it. You have time to do the things you want and a person like Dion to make it happen.
Christopher was entertaining and very engaging. He was very knowledgeable and accommodating. He brought history to life.

What a lovely fall day for a tour of Mount Vernon. Small group with other guides taking in the extra tour , Nick was so personable, making the drive filled with information while tossing in a few punny jokes. Made the drive seem short , and he maximized our time by getting the house tour early (no lines today!) leaving more time for a yummy lunch and shopping. The two movies are a must. Beautiful day out. The plus was, USA Guided tours pick up and drop off at Wyndham hotels!!! I highly recommend this tour and the company.
Nick is a true professional. We are glad he made your experience great! Regarding Wyndham, please thank your concierge and tell them how much you liked the tour - the shuttle is not offered to all our guests, just those through concierge partners - truly a special gift!
Our trip to Mt Vernon was so much fun. Edgar was funny and knowledgeable. He really made the trip worthwhile. I’d highly recommend!

Christopher was awesome! We booked a 5 hour tour of Alexandria and Mt Vernon. We are an active family and Christopher quickly adapted when we told him we’d like to also add Arlington to our itinerary. We saw it all in 5 hours. He put us right in the right place at the tomb of the unknown soldier to have the best view of the guard inspection. We really enjoyed our time with him. It was a great day!

This was our second tour with USA Guided Tours in DC and it was great. It was so much fun to learn more about George and Martha and visit Mount Vernon. Joey was a great tour guide and stayed with us through the whole tour, even through the mansion. I loved listening to her stories.
