A view of the enormous 'White Horse of Kilburn' (97m wide) The horse was carved into the Sandstone over 100 years ago. (please not that we will see the horse from the minibus and will not be venturing up close)
A stop at Byland Abbey. A Gothic Monastery which inspired the design for York Minster Rose Window
Visiting the beautiful, bustling market Town of Helmsley (Once my Home) Here, you will be able to stretch your legs, get something to eat and use the toilet facilities.
A brief stop at this beautiful small village where you often see sheep taking over the roads
We will travel over a section of the North York Moors National Park where you can appreciate the beauty and tranquility of this vast moorland
From Goathland Village Greg will see you safely on the steam train ride (one way) to Whitby and be waiting for you on the platform to greet you before having some free time in the town.
Approximately 2 hours to spend in Whitby at your leisure. You may want to visit Whitby Abbey, eat fish and chips or just take in the harbour atmostphere of fishing boats along the great piers.

Nice, laid-back tour. There were only four people on the tour, which felt perfect, and there was a good balance between being guided and being left on our own. I wish we had a little bit more time on the moors, but on the whole, it was well-paced and way easier than trying to figure out how to get to all these places on our own.

Our tour with Greg at All Tours Great & Small was fantastic and would recommend to everyone. Greg was very friendly, low key, and accommodating. He had many insights into the history, landscape and local way of life that he shared along the way. The van was very comfortable, smooth ride and clean. Having a small group tour vs the larger vans/buses we saw with other services was a real plus. The drive through the Yorkshire country side was gorgeous and the various stops along the way felt like “hidden gems”. Highly recommend Greg and All Tours Great and Small!

Greg is an amazing driver and guide. Full of knowledge of York and its area. The whole trip was excellent Greg changed the timings slightly at our request so we could spend a short time in Goathland taking photos of the Heartbeat location. He saw us on board the steam train and met us at Whitby Station to arrange final pick up. Can highly recommend.

We booked a Whitby day trip from York with a big family group including elderly and kids. was amazing. Trip guide Greg was so friendly, full of local knowledge, and made sure everyone was comfortable. Whitby was beautiful but the guide made it unforgettable. Highly recommend!

Greg picked us up at the agreed place and time. He is very interesting and knowledgeable. We stopped at many interesting places along the way. The train was really great stepping back to bygone years. I'm sure the Harry Potter fans would like it. We also liked the small group tour because we were not just a number as you are on large coach tours. Greg was very knowledgeable and made the tour interesting he also made us feel relaxed which made the tour more enjoyable. I would book this trip again.

A wonderful day out. The day trip was amazing, one which we will remember for a long time. Mark, our driver and guide was fantastic. A really nice guy and very knowledgeable. This trip is highly recommended. It is excellent value for money. Mark took us to lots of different places. We had a fabulous day with Greg on one of his small group tours. He really helped me out with my booking when I had a small problem and I knew from them that we had made the right booking for our trip. His minivan was really comfortable his knowledge of the local area absolutely brilliant. The places we costed were beautiful with lots of opportunities to stall for photos. We have been coming to York for a few years now and always fancied going to Whitby. Now we don't drive, so it seemed too far on a regular train or bus. But then I went on Trip Advisor and found this company All Trips Great and Small. Amazing. And Greg was fantastic. We were picked up in York by air con mini bus. Now, the trip did change slightly, as no steam trains were allowed due to the hot weather and risk of wild fires. Understandable. Visited Byland Abbey, then onto Hemsley, going through lots of other places. Over the Moors, then met the diesel train at Aidensfield from Heartbeat. Real name Goathland. Train to Whitby was a joy. Whitby itself was very busy, so much to do, so chose a few ideas that Greg had given us. Most happy with a ring with Whitby Jet. So highly recommend any tours with this company. Can't wait to go again.
