Do the 9pm tour as it adds to the experience..Informative and such fun, the guide made it brilliant delivery.
Proper Yorkshire lads; Phil Graves (!), our host, was very entertaining accompanied by his hard working driver Cliff. The pick-up point was easy to find and boarding was quick. The tour was very funny and interactive with Phil including everyone on both floors of the bus. There was a section in the middle of the tour where you disembark and wander for a short while which was very good too, we went back to have a drink in The Golden Fleece as a result of this actually! I definitely recommend booking this tour - it is a fun and easy way to see the City as well as have a laugh and hear a bit of interesting and spooky history.
My wife and I had a fantastic time. Phil was incredible - absolutely hilarious, and very quick on his feet when other members of the tour (particularly children) had comments/questions. We laughed until our cheeks hurt, and actually learned a lot about York's history along the way!
Fully recommend this tour. We had a downpour while waiting to get on the bus and it rained pretty hard throughout. Because of this, we were all rather steamy and frankly you couldn’t see anything out of the windows upstairs. However, Phil our conductor was absolutely brilliant. So entertaining, enthusiastic and interactive we laughed a lot.
Great fun way to spend an hour plus in York , book it !
Not as good as expected . There was issues with cameras and with microphone . The female young member of staff done her best and should be praised . There needs to be some fans on the bus is the summer , chairs are very sticky.
Would have been better in the dark but was still enjoyable. The tour guide was good and knowledgeable. Do be prepared for a little walk, as we weren't and weren't really dressed for it, as did rain a bit while on bus but luckily stopped as we got off. Where we sat on bus, very back top deck, was awkward to see the TV screen but could hear everything well. If I went again would try to make sure it was dark but then not as easy to see landmarks that were talked about.
We would highly recommend the Ghost Bus. It really looks the part which sets the scene perfectly. Our young, female guide was excellent! The tour was funny throughout and informative. We booked at 9pm in Summer to make it more atmospheric but it may be better to choose an earlier time so you can see more out of the windows. Thoroughly enjoyed it!
Spooktastic love this tour bus 2nd time on it great value for money this time it was Harry who did our tour and did great. Will be back again
We didn't really enjoy it. The bus was on time and easy to find. Some very feral children ran onto the bus without tickets and ran upstairs and had to be asked to get off. They shouldn't have even got past the host in the first place, in my opinion. They were aggressive and it didn't set us off on a good start. We went on a 9pm tour, thinking it would have a more spooky feel, but the tour mainly consists of having various buildings pointed out to us along the journey, but because it was dark, we couldn't see the buildings the guide was referring to and telling stories about. I expected the tour to be humorous, but it felt the jokes would be better suited to children. The seats are not comfy and we were knee to knee with strangers sat opposite us, so it felt very awkward, as there wasn't much leg room. It was not an enjoyable or fun experience and I was glad when it finished.
