Description

As a lifelong resident of the North End of Boston this isn’t just about what you eat—it’s about where you are and who you’re with. As someone who grew up in Boston’s North End, I’ll take you through the neighborhood the way locals experience it. You’ll visit a mix of historic institutions and under-the-radar spots, meeting the people and traditions behind the food. Along the way, you’ll hear personal stories of growing up Italian in Boston—stories that bring the neighborhood to life in a way no guidebook can. Expect a variety of tastings such as pizza, pasta, arancini, meats, cheeses, and pastries from some of the North End’s most beloved spots.

The North End Boston Food Tour explores the heart of Boston’s Little Italy and introduces the charm and allure of the rich history, vibrant culture, and tantalizing aromas that define this neighborhood. This tour shares stories of its immigrant past, cultural evolution, and the role it played in shaping Boston’s identity. Learn about the festivals, events, and traditions that contribute to its lively atmosphere. We will capture the essence of community celebrations and the warmth that permeates the area and unveil lesser-known gems within Little Italy – charming alleyways, art installations, or tucked-away spots that offer a more intimate experience. We will venture off the beaten path to the mom and pop shops that are still a big part of this neighborhood and we will provide practical advice for those planning a visit to the North End’s Little Italy, including the best times to explore, recommended dishes to try, and any upcoming events. I’m a lifelong local and guide all tours.

Highly Recommend North End Boston Food Tour with Bobby!!

I was visiting my friend in Boston who works during the day, and I wanted an activity to fill my time. I started looking at food tours and had heard great things about Bobby's Food Tour on social media. While researching other Boston food tours, I noticed the hosts responded harshly to any review below 3 stars, which made me wonder if their pages were more about intimidation than genuine satisfaction. Bobby's reviews, by contrast, were consistently positive with no defensive responses in sight, which felt like a much better sign. That reputation held up in person, too. Walking through the North End, Bobby was recognized and greeted warmly by people we passed, and at one point even a local city councilor stopped to say hello. The tour struck a great balance between North End history and stopping into shops to try food from all over the neighborhood. A couple days later, I was walking through the North End again and ran into Bobby on the street. He waved at me like we were old friends, which honestly just confirmed it: the guy is a genuine North End celebrity. If you're looking for a fun, food-focused activity in Boston, I'd definitely recommend it.

Our tour guide Bob did a wonderful job explaining the history of the north side as we went from one venue to another. The food at each stop was phenomenal. A real taste of the north end.

Buonissimo!

This was a fantastic day! Bobby was so impressive. Hearing his family’s history in the north end, learning the history of the neighborhood and characters in it made it so interesting and heart felt. We sampled delicious food, and learned about the dishes and samples prepared. Don’t miss out on this tour with a local who has connections with all the shopkeepers and restaurants along the way!

More than just a food tour!

My daughter and I had a terrific experience with Bobby on this tour despite the fact that it was pouring rain for the first half, which says a lot about the quality of the tour, the attitude of the guide, and the appropriate length of each of the stops. We are experienced food tour attendees and this was one of the best not even necessarily due to the tastings but due to the personal stories and history of the North End that Bobby incorporated throughout the tour as a lifelong resident. Highly recommend!
