Itinerary

Le Debarquement et la Bataille de Normandie
120 min

Your private tour guide will take your private group up for a full day of World War II history, with an emphasis on the American soldiers who fought to protect the Allies and their people. You will visit important sites such as the ones that follow.

Pointe du Hoc
60 min

Your day continues with a visit to Pointe du Hoc, one of the most dramatic sites of the Normandy landings. Perched on a 100-foot cliff overlooking the English Channel, this position was heroically scaled by U.S. Army Rangers under heavy enemy fire. As you walk among the bomb craters and remnants of German bunkers, your guide will bring to life the extraordinary courage and determination that defined this mission.

Omaha Beach
120 min

Leaving Pointe du Hoc, you'll continue your drive to Omaha Beach, the site of one of the most pivotal events of World War II. Here, you will stand on the sands where 2,400 American soldiers lost their lives on D-Day in the fight to secure a beachhead stretching nearly 5 miles, from Port-en-Bessin to the Vire River, ultimately linking up with the British landings at Gold Beach and the American forces at Utah Beach. Your guide will share the powerful history of Omaha Beach before leaving you free time to reflect and pay tribute to those who fought against the German 352nd Infantry Division.

Cimetiere Americain de Colleville-sur-Mer
60 min

Your journey then takes you to the Normandy American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer, the resting place of nearly 9,400 U.S. soldiers. Stroll among the perfectly aligned white crosses, visit the Memorial, the Wall of the Missing, and the chapel. This solemn and peaceful site is an enduring reminder of the cost of freedom.

Arromanches-les-Bains
60 min

Leaving the American Cemetery, you'll sit back and relax as you drive to Arromanches, where you will see the remains of the artificial harbor (Mulberry Bridge), a key engineering achievement that played a decisive role in the success of the D-Day landings.

Normandy D – Day tour – – outstanding

We booked the Normandy Battlefields D-Day Private Trip with VIP Services, and it exceeded every expectation. Our guide and driver for the day, Hervé, made the experience truly unforgettable. His knowledge of history — the lead-up to D-Day, the events of June 6th itself, and everything that followed — was remarkable, delivered with the kind of depth and nuance you simply don't get from a group tour script. He brought the beaches, the cemeteries, and the landing sites to life in a way that was both deeply moving and genuinely educational. Beyond the history, Hervé was a fantastic host — personable, easy to talk to, and clearly passionate about what he does. He was also an excellent driver, making the full day on the road smooth and comfortable. If you're looking for a private Normandy tour with a guide who treats it as more than a job, ask for Hervé. Highly recommend Parismatic

Good tour of Normandy and commentary

Our guide was very informative and quite personable but we are giving only 4 stars because we skipped a few stops listed on the itinerary. We did not visit Point du Hoc or Utah Beach. Our tour lasted 10 hours and not the 12-13 advertised.

Operator response

Dear Nancy, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are very pleased to hear that you found your guide informative and personable. Following your review, we contacted your guide to better understand what happened during your tour. He explained that he suggested replacing Pointe du Hoc with the German Battery at Longues-sur-Mer, a very popular D-Day site that is currently particularly appreciated by visitors. According to the guide, this alternative was proposed to you during the tour and you agreed to the change. Regarding Utah Beach, we would respectfully like to clarify that it is not included in the advertised itinerary for this particular tour and was therefore not a scheduled stop. Your guide also took you to Bayeux, where you had the opportunity to admire the magnificent Bayeux Cathedral, which is not part of the advertised itinerary. His intention was therefore not to shorten your experience or omit sites, but rather to adapt the day and offer you an additional experience. Nevertheless, we are genuinely sorry if the tour did not fully meet your expectations. Guest satisfaction is extremely important to us, and we always want our clients to leave Normandy with the best possible memories. Thank you again for choosing us and for giving us the opportunity to clarify these points. Kindly, Fred

Rayan is a great guide and will answer your questions and direct you along your day. Wonderful experience traveling to Normandy for Omaha Beach, Bunkers and Museum. The cemetery is such a beautiful place to pay your respects to our beloved lost veterans of D - Day.

Very memorable trip!

We were picked up promptly at 7:00am by our guide, Lucille. She welcomed us warmly and told us how long the trip would be( 3 hours). Our first stop was Pointe du Hoc and a visit to a German bunker. Then on to Omaha beach and a quick lunch. The afternoon was spent at the American Cemetery. This place is absolutely pristine! A very moving experience for us. ( my father-in-law served in WWII in the Pacific) . Lucille was extremely knowledgeable and encouraged conversation. We learned so much! Thank you!

Normandy day trip - exceptional

We had an exceptional day with Lucile - upon pick up at our hotel to returning that evening the day was beautiful. Lucile’s tour of Normandy will stay with us forever- touched by going in a bunker to walking on the beach; breathing the air that so many died fighting is forever in our hearts. Merci beaucoup

Highly Recommended

We HIGHLY recommend this tour and Rayan, our driver and guide. He was full of relevant and meaningful information. In the few cases where he did not know the answer to a question he researched it and provided the answer. The itinerary was excellent, the pace was just right, and Rayan was fantastic!
