Nile cruise from Luxor to Aswan

We are a small family of 3 from London who chose a bespoke private tour - we had the most amazing time. Daniel provided seamless service with knowledgeable & professional tour guides -Michael at Luxor, Mohammad at Edfu, Meena at Aswan, Ahmed & Mohammad at Cairo. He helped in organising a surprise 50th birthday celebration, ensured we had an amazing Nile cruise & a fabulous stay in Cairo & good transfers & Meet & greet throughout. He understood our unsaid needs & delighted us. We return home with some fond memories whilst also getting a chance to see how the local people live.

The dream of the Nile – and what remains of it Personal account of a Nile cruise A Nile cruise is considered a quiet journey through history and culture. My personal experience was different. This report is intended to provide information – especially on aspects that are hardly mentioned in many travel descriptions. I'm not writing here to dramatize or deter. It's because transparency is important. ________________________________________ Expectation and Reality I had imagined the Nile calm and timeless. Instead, there was often heavy, standing air above the water. Cruise ships were sometimes several ships lying close together, many with permanently running engines. The smell of diesel and exhaust gases was omnipresent, a grey veil often hung over the river, and oil films were visible on the surface of the water in places. ________________________________________ Continuous operation on the river The large number of ships upstream and downstream was striking. The deep hum of the diesel engines accompanied the day and often the night. Fresh air was rare even on the sundeck. When the cabin door was opened, exhaust gases poured in and settled in the clothes and cabin. ________________________________________ Three days in Aswan I found the situation in Aswan particularly stressful. There we lay for three days at a time. The ships were close together in the harbour, the air barely moved, the smell of diesel was permanently present. Looking at Aswan, there was a visible cloud of exhaust gas above. There were hardly any alternatives: Closed cabin doors meant heat or air conditioning, while opened ones carried exhaust gases into the cabin. ________________________________________ Physical reactions The cruise lasted 7 days, already after three I experienced persistent headaches, breathing difficulties, later also nausea and exhaustion. Sleep brought little rest, as smells and engine noise remained present even at night. It became clear to me that it was not a short-term inconvenience. ________________________________________ Conclusion A Nile cruise is not automatically the quiet, decelerated journey it is often advertised as. In its present form, it is associated in many places with permanent engine operation, exhaust gases and environmental pollution, which can also have a health effect. The Nile is an extraordinary river with a great history. That is precisely why it seems important to speak openly about the less romantic aspects. Anyone planning such a trip should be aware of this in order to make a conscious decision.

We had the most amazing trip visiting all of the must see sites from Luxor all the way down to Abu Simbel! We were extremely impressed with the professional level of organization from EZ Tour Egypt. They arranged to have us picked up from Hurghada and took us to a hotel that we booked personally for a few nights before our Nile River cruise. Once we got to Luxor we met up with our fantastic guide, Michael Micheal. Michael is extremely passionate about ancient Egyptian history and took his time at every site making sure to explain everything to us and going out of his way to show us extra things that I feel a lot of people miss. He took tons of pictures of us the whole time and would even take us on errands if we wanted snack or supplies for the hotel. Everyone we met during our trip were so nice and welcoming to us. We really feel like we made some friends along the way and couldn’t be happier. The crew on the Acamar, the cruise ship, were also extremely accommodating. When the family next to our room was being too loud, the manager offered to move us to another room and it made our trip so much better. I can’t say enough good things about our experience in Egypt. It has been a trip of a lifetime!

I recommend this trip to anyone who can do it. On the boat very comfortable cabins, the great dining room with beautiful windows, the enjoyable pool on the top floor, and the food was excellent.

Our private tour from Hurghada to Luxor, organized by Daniel and guided by Abanoub Jacob in Spanish, was truly unforgettable. Week from Thursday 10th with return April 17th on the motorboat Jaz Crown Jubilee. As Italian speaking guide we had Mr. Monti who lived up to expectations x competence and availability towards all guests of the group. Cleanliness of the room, dining room and all common areas was impeccable. The food was varied and with self service everyone could choose their favorite food special attention x the intolerant was present at breakfast milk without lactose and both at lunch and dinner foods x people with this problematica.la negative note was the Wi-Fi that almost never worked

Beautiful cruise with Nile Serenity. We had a well-appointed and spacious Royal Suite with balcony and a crew unlike any other in kindness, humor and care. Every wish was read from our eyes and especially Adel has grown very close to our hearts. Our tour guide Medi made the cruise an unforgettable experience with his perfect German, excellent knowledge and humor. Also we were lucky enough to spend the evenings with all the particularly nice and funny people. Highly recommended!
