On the occasion of our 50th wedding anniversary we wanted to give ourselves a trip to New York, but the lack of knowledge of the language and our advanced age were a problem. Open Tour with its package “By the hand in New York” has dispelled every our hesitation. We were able to see, learn and appreciate the most significant places in the city without any problem, thanks to the professional skills of the Open Tour guides who were always present. A special recognition goes to Igor excellent resolver of any mishap in particular was spent to recover, ship and deliver home a forgotten backpack. Definitely recommend Open Tour to those who want to visit New York. Adriana and Salvatore Zinna.
Make sure you get a one language guide. We had German and English which did a poor job of doing both. Too small of vehicle for 6 tourists guide and driver. Not recommended to do this tour company
Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your experience did not meet expectations. We strive to provide guides who excel in multilingual tours, but we understand this may not have worked well for your group. Regarding the vehicle size, we aim to ensure comfort for all participants, and we regret that this was not the case during your tour. We’ll review these concerns with our team to improve future experiences. We appreciate your input and hope to have the chance to provide a better service in the future. Best regards,
Exceptional Knowledge of the city from our tour guide Erika. She was great! We explored every part of the city we planned with a few surprises added in. Suggestions: let tourists know in advance that they will be walking on occasion so they wear proper footwear and outerwear. Also prepare them for a coffee break before they set out.
Our tour guide was so friendly and had a lot of info to share with us. Had a blast! She was very knowledgeable of all the places we went.
Our guide Erica was very professional and personable. The driver was personable as well. My concern here is that I did not get what was advertised and what I paid for. First, there was no motor coach. It was someone’s personal mini van with bald tires (I snapped a picture). Glad it was not raining. I can imagine the van hydroplaning. There was no tour of Harlem nor Brooklyn. When I asked if we were going to see Harlem, I was told by our guide that Viator’s site had mis-information. The guide then called her office and was told that the tour could not be extended to include Harlem (another hour or two). Somebody is lying. Perhaps the FTC, State of New York, and Department of Transportation can figure this out from an impending complaint into this suspicious and maybe fraudulent activity. By the way, if you decide to take this minivan tour, they only accept cash tips. They don’t take things like Zelle or cash app.
Due to airlines connection delays, we were not able to make the New York City Sightseeing by Coach and could not get refunded for this excursion. I’m sure it would have been a wonderful experience.
Erika was an excellent tour guide. Very knowledgeable about the city and its history. We had a lovely time on the tour. Thank you!
We did not get full 8 stops or visit Harlem. We had 6 people on board. 2 German 4 English speaking. Although the Germans both spoke English our Austrian guide favoured them on and off coach. We had to endure tour in German as well! Tour lasted just over 3 hrs not as advertised. Small coach was great and angelo very good but Erika not the greatest.
We did not do all and see all that was advertised on this trip! That was a BIG disappointment! We did not see the Empire State Building, we did not go through Harlem, we stopped for 25 minutes at Eataly (BIG waste of time, we could use the restroom here which was nice, but this was a 5 minute stop at most, we wasted a lot of time here where we could have seen more stuff!), we did not see Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts nor stop for the photo, we did not stop at the Flat Iron Building for a photo, we did not walk in Little Italy or Chinatown (we drove through quickly so we didn't even get many photos), they weren't even going to take us back to Herald Square where it says the tour ends... They did end up taking us back closer though because I told them that they said they would and I was holding them to it. Our tour guide knew lots of information, but at some stops I had to prompt for information based on my own knowledge. This was actually a below average tour and I would not advise anyone to take it. They also charged us $10 more per ticket than they showed on the site. The driver was more worried about being stuck in traffic than showing us everything advertised on the site.
First visit to NYC. Loved Central Park carriage ride and Top of the Rock! Tour guide was OK but not the best I’ve had. She was very nice though.
