We had a wonderful food tour of Naxos Town. It has become a regular item of our holidays as a great way to see the location, talk to local experts and find the best places in town to eat and drink. This was no exception, and we had a great and very in-depth and personalised/friendly tour. (having said that have forgotten the name of our guide, which is bad of us – many apologies – but he was real great). The tour started with some award winning cheese in a cheese shop, went via a couple of cafes restaurants for orange cake and drinks and fabulous views over the old town, and culminated in a full meal at Apostolis. Washed down with the fantastic Kitron liquor/digestive. a new aspect apparently was the olive-oil tasting. we sampled early- and late-harvest oils and chilli and garlic infused oils. Very informative. Impossible not to buy some to take home! Would thoroughly recommend – thank you again Naxos!
I have been on a few food tours and this one BY FAR was the best. My daughter and I were blown away with the tour guides knowledge and all of the food we received. Come prepared with an empty stomach. The food is out of this world!
Stratos was an amazing tour guide - very knowledgeable - with the history of food and of the islands - do not miss this tour!!
Leo was a great guide, very passionate about Naxos! So much delicious food, come hungry! Book near the start of your trip so you know what to look for on the menu as you continue your vacation.
This tour is a 10/10! It was a perfect combination of Naxos cuisine and history. Our tour guide was perfection!
On our first night in Naxos we booked this high recommend food walking tour which was INCREDIBLE. We got to wander and explore the charming old town while making many stops along the way to taste the local delicacies including wine and cheese, a special olive oil tasting, sweet treats and bread, the local liquor of Kitron, as well as an amazing meal to finish alongside our new friends that we made in our group walking tour. We had the most incredible host Maria who was so knowledgeable about the food as well as the island and has years of experience cooking herself, even sharing her cookbook! It was an experience we will never forget and truly a great introduction to the island and food scene giving us many ideas to return to along the remainder of the time on the island. Book it! Highly recommend.
We loved every minute of it. Our guide, Leo, was knowledgeable, funny, energetic, and very in tune with the goings on with the local food scene. It was on Canada Day, and he had lived in Toronto for a number of years, so that was a bonus for us. The family style Greek dinner at the end of the tour was the highlight. Don’t change a thing; we would do it again in a heartbeat!
I have been on many food tours and really enjoy them. This one had lots of diversity. From wine and cheese, to Olive oil tasting with more wine, other stops for small tastings and then a delicious meal at the end. A lot of history as well. I would say well worth the money. A good time.
Guide was in school for archeology, so she was very knowledgeable! we tried local cheeses, wines, desserts (the orange cake at Honey & Cinnamon was out of this world), and we had a small olive oil tasting, among others. it ended with a really nice sit down dinner and great conversation.
Leonidas was the best tour guide! This was our first food tour and it exceeded our expectations more than we can express! We learned so much and had a wonderful experience tasting the delicious cuisine. We will recommend this to everyone we know!
