Through its collection, exhibitions, programmes and partnerships, Mudam Luxembourg aims to advance its mission to collect, present and make accessible the most relevant art of our times, for the largest public possible.

Mudam Luxembourg - Musée d’Art Moderne Grand-Duc Jean is the foremost museum dedicated to contemporary art in Luxembourg, and strives to be attentive to every discipline and open to the whole world. Its collection and programme reflect current artistic trends and appreciate the emergence of new artistic practices on a national and international scale. The building, by famous Sino-American architect Ieoh Ming Pei, is a marvellous dialogue between the natural and historical environment. Standing against the vestiges of Fort Thüngen, it follows the course of the former surrounding walls, and is rooted in the Park Dräi Eechelen (planned by landscapist, Michel Desvigne) which offers magnificent views onto the old town just a short walk from the European district of Kirchberg.

An exceptional visit. Entrance fee was worth it. My visit was approximately 1.5 hours. Good peaceful atmosphere in an amazing building. Lots of space - not crowded. Staff helpful and polite and joy to meet. Interesting contemporary modern art (as with this type of art - some odd exhibits) but generally very inspiring and uplifting.
The Museum of Modern Art in the City of Luxembourg is located in front of the ruins of Fort Thungen. Access to the museum is made by two bridges that cross the dry moat. The works of several artists are displayed in it. The building's architecture is beautiful and the entrance costs 10 euros.
Visited with my family. I have two kids, one who loves art and one who doesn't, and unsurprisingly their experiences of the museum aligned with their interests! We all loved the beautiful building and architecture the spotless cleanliness and airiness of the museum. It was also lovely and cool on a hot day! It was good they had chairs which you could use to sit down and take in the exhibitions. The lockers were also very useful. We appreciated the signs in English.. The exhibitions are not designed to be interactive so we don't think it's a great place for very young children. I felt quite sorry for the tour guide on the lower floor whi must have had to listen to the Buggles "Video Killed the Radio star" a thousand times during her shift. It's a great song for sure, but we all have our limits!! In all we enjoyed our visit and for somebody who appreciates modern art it is worth seeing..

This is a wonderful contemporary art museum. Even the building itself, a modern structure designed by I M Pei, set on the remains of midevil fortresses is a work of art. The exhibit spaces weren't crowded and there was just enough to look at and be able to take my time with each display.
Mudam is the modern art museum of Luxembourg, designed by famous architect I.M. Pei, and integrated into the historic Trois Glands fortifications complex. The building itself is indeed quite stunning and worth visiting in its own right. The exhibit space occupies three floors and most exhibits are temporary ones. The current exhibits featuring works of Japanese British artist Simon Fujiwara and South African artist I. Daniel are worth visiting, though I preferred the latter exhibit.......
Very beautiful architecture of the Master: Peï major specialist in Museums around the world. Unfortunately the exhibitions are not up to the standard. Modern conceptual art is really not my cup of tea... Too bad it ruins the visit!
