Description

Explore Mt. St. Helens on a day tour tailored to you. Our local, TripAdvisor 'Hall of Fame' guides have been 'Certified Excellent' every year since 2010! Please note that the itinerary outlined is a SAMPLE of potential destinations that could be included in the tour. Walk along the blast-swept Eruption Trail with panoramic views of the devastation and the mountain’s crater. You may even glimpse a herd of Roosevelt elk! No two tours with Evergreen Escapes are the same! Our guides craft itineraries that reflect the best of what the Park has to offer that day. We’ll offer stops at some of our favorite spots like Coldwater Lake or the Hummocks Trail. This isn’t just another driving tour of a beautiful landscape - we prefer to keep guests outside the vehicle for walks to experience firsthand. Our all-inclusive small-group day tour is limited to just 10 travelers. We'll bring a local, organic, family-style lunch and eat outside when it's nice! Don’t worry about a thing!

Very knowledgeable

Lindsay was a great guide, he’s very knowledgeable about the area and St Helen’s. If you’re a nerd about this, you’ll have a great time.

Thoughtful details make the difference!

Everything was top-notch! Our guide Chris was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The food was fresh and delicious! I never imagined I would have a sit-down lunch on a day tour! The snacks and beverages offered plenty of variety for everyone. Even though the weather didn't fully cooperate, we had a fun and educational day.

Excellent day trip!

Amazing day, thank you Chris B! If you’re looking at this tour, do it! Our day started at 7:30an with a door to door pick up in a passenger van. We did a few other very quick stops to pick others up. Chris B shared interesting information/facts from the beginning. Our drive was not only informative but accommodating with plenty of refreshments and bathroom breaks. The stops included an old growth forest with coffee/tea and excellent zucchini bread, 2 visitors centers, 2 perfect length walks/hikes, and a stop at a privately run artifact display. The views were great! Lunch included chicken thighs pieces and two salads (possibly not a kid/teen fav but we didn’t mind! If you’re a picky eater bring your own packed lunch). This tour was so enjoyable we’ve decided to do more! Thank you again for a wonderful day our family wouldn’t have experienced without you!

Best tour

Everything about this was fantastic. The Guide Chris was kind, courteous, and knowledgeable.the breakfast pastry and coffee was nice. The lunch was fantastic. Post lunch cookies to die for. I liked how we started breakfast at an old growth Forrest so the hike showed us what MSH looked like before the eruption. Easy hike. Later we stopped at a number of places to see the site and learn about it. There was a second hike to a great viewpoint. I did not think it was hard but there were some ups and downs and a few people who were not as stable walking had to turn back. Plus an optional hike at lunch at the lake. Everything was perfect, Chris would not let us lift a finger. He had hats, sunglasses and hiking sticks in case it was needed. Can’t say enough about this tour.

Evergreen Escapes Rocks!

Evergreen Escapes had a great itinerary to Mt St Helens, keeping the pace of the day smooth and sharing so much information! Chris Bright was an outstanding guide! The company had snacks, water, brewed coffee and a lovely lunch to keep up our energy level! I cant say enough praise for our time with Chris and the fun we had. I would definitely book a tour again to any of their destinations!

A Bucket List Trip

My hubby booked a small group tour as a birthday gift for me and it took nearly 12 hours. It was a long day but there were only four of us and we all got along fine. There was some confusion about getting to the pickup location (given bad directions by someone who didn't know where anything was), and nearly missed the meeting time. Luckily for us, Brent was willing to come by our hotel and get us. He was more than friendly and helpful the entire day, and we all talked together the whole day about our various travels. He also had great snacks, water and sodas the entire day for us. He also laid out a picnic lunch from a catering company (like I have read they do for their customers) on a picnic bench near Coldwater Lake. We also took intervals outside the van to walk through old growth forests and one that led to a nice waterfall. I had lousy shoes on that day and I managed to do all of the walks except the last half of the last one. My good walking shoes were left in a hotel near Seattle and I didn't have time to replace them, so I was pretty proud of myself for doing all that walking over rocky, rooty and hilly terrain. When we did get to Mt. St. Helen's, many other people were out that day, and it actually cleared off at the top, which our guide says "never happens." I felt pretty special since I got to see that on my birthday. The only reason that I didn't give this tour a five rating was, it was too long a day for me. We had been on the move non stop for several days, some nights not even getting dinner, and I was ready for some rest!

Fantastic tour to Mt St Helens

We had a fantastic tour to Mt St Helens on a sunny Weds with tour guide Connor and 3 other travellers. The tour was well planned with many stops at interesting places, explaining the natural history of the area and then the volcanic eruption itself. Connor picked a great picnic spot near Coldwater lake and put on a delicious gourmet lunch spread. I appreciate the effort Connor went to during the drive playing us an audio book of people’s experiences during the volcanic eruption. He always made sure we had a drink or snack. His knowledge of the geological landscape was extensive. And the finale taking us to Joe’s Survivor museum was amazing to view the local people’s experience of that time during the volcanic activity. Overall a fantastic day!
