A succulent lunch of Australian Cuisine awaits at the Daintree Tea house before we continue our journey into the oldest rainforest on the planet. At Mossman Gorge we enjoy up to 3 hours of this extraordinary biodiverse environment of flora and fauna. An interactive journey with our guide into the rainforest you learn about cultural history and the significance of the flora and fauna in this region. It is a time to immerse and connect to this extraordinary life experience.

Itinerary
A scenic tour North along the Great Barrier Reef drive is a stunning outlook over the coral sea before arriving into Port Douglas. Your guide will take you on a full scenic drive of this popular coastal town through the main street and up to Flagstaff hill lookout for the perfect view of 4 mile beach. Continuing your guide will point out the picturesque landscapes, the chapel and down to the Marine prescient before picking up any new visitors joining us from Port Douglas.
Arriving for our Daintree River Cruise we enjoy our refreshment stop for morning tea at the Daintree River. Amenities are available. Enjoy home cooked delights served with tea and coffee. After morning tea we board for the 11am cruise on the Daintree River. Looking out for some excitement on the water expect to see fish activity, the elusive crocodile slowing rising above the water or basking along the river banks. You may also get to observe the array of birdlife, cassowaries and water dragons as we cruise along the Daintree river. Your guide will give you an in depth commentary on the behaviours and sightings of wildlife while learning about this extraordinary ecosystem. An adventure for all to enjoy great opportunities for photographing and relaxing enjoying this 1 hour cruise of the Daintree river observing the wildlife and surrounding beauty of this extraordinary river system.
After your cruise your guide will give you a scenic tour of Daintree Village before arriving at the Daintree Tea house for lunch. Enjoy a restaurant quality al-la-carte lunch of Australian Cuisine while dining in the Daintree. Please advise of any special dietary requirements upon making your booking.
Arriving at Mossman Gorge Cultural centre we enter making our way to the shuttle stop to board the bus to take us into the gorge. Your guide will give you a full induction into the region and continue to share significant history and knowledge of the locals. The lower region of the gorge is fully accessible for all age groups and abilities. As your guide takes you along the boardwalks he continues to share interesting facts of the biodiversity of the rainforest and wildlife pointing out specific plants, seeds and bush tucker that keep this ecosystem thriving. You may like to immerse deeper in this ancient old rainforest by choosing to enjoy a swim. If you would like to explore further into the upper regions of the Mossman Gorge your guide will take you for this additional trek to explore the deeper regions of the rainforest. Please note the upper region is graded at a medium level and does not offer mobility access.
On our way back toward Cairns we take the opportunity for a final stop at Rex's Lookout over looking the coral sea. An awesome view of the coastline hugging the mountains makes a great photo. Also a popular stop to watch paragliders on a good clear day.

We went with Tropic Tours. Our guide was Steve. We were the only ones on the tour today so we can’t thank Tropic Tours and Steve enough for taking us. We had an amazing day and Steve was extremely knowledgeable.
Simon is friendly, knowledgeable and loves what he provides for his lucky clients. He is most empathetic to the environment and indigenous culture. I had an amazing time on this tour! It was one of the highlights of my trip. Simon and Steven were fantastic guides—friendly, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable. They shared so many interesting stories about the rainforest, wildlife, local history, and Aboriginal culture, which made the whole day much more meaningful. Mossman Gorge was definitely my favorite part. I honestly don’t think it would have been nearly as enjoyable without their guidance. They pointed out things I would have completely missed and explained the rainforest in such an engaging way. It felt like experiencing the place rather than just visiting it. Everything was well organized, the pace was relaxed, and the scenery was absolutely beautiful. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Cairns. From pickup to dropoff our family of 7 had a wonderful day on this tour. We saw many crocodiles in the Daintree river, swam in the majestic Mossman Gorge and drove through the buzzing Port Douglas., Simon explained the unique vegetation in an interesting and engaging way. We enjoyed learning about the indigenous story of the areas we visited and Simon’s love of the area shone through. The day was at a comfortable pace and, being a small tour Simon was able to adjust times at different places so we could experience the day to its fullest. We travelled with 2 young children and Simon catered the information to them and they really enjoyed their day. Definitely recommend this tour. A & A

We had a wonderful day! Karlos was a great guide and full of so much knowledge. You can tell that he really enjoys his job and is very approachable and happy to answer any questions. Even though a schedule needed to be kept, the day felt very relaxed and not rushed which was all down to the way Karlos approached the itinerary and the group. The homemade cake before the 1 hour Daintree river cruise to search for crocodiles was a much appreciated added touch and so delicious! The small group added to the personal experience and we enjoyed the day from beginning to end. The tour was absolutely amazing - very engaging and full of beautiful places. We went on a river cruise where we saw crocodiles, walked through the tropical rainforest, and even swam in the river! We also learned a lot of interesting and useful facts about Australia, and overall had a fantastic time. Our guide, Simon, was very attentive, answered all our questions, and even recommended a few great places to visit outside of the tour.
