Great well-organized excursion, boating and hiking!

Wow, what a wonderfully well-organized excursion! We will be picked up on time (8.25) at our hotel Bay Villas Resort in Port Douglas. By driver and guide Tia, super friendly and convivial and very helpful. Good surf holidays were provided and water shoes (Tia helps me put them on, thanks!) Rafting down the river was amazing, unforgettable! The weather was nice and therefore not cold at all. After that, we had a nice lunch in a restaurant. Recommendation to take Barramunda fish! Got iced tea and fries, more than enough and an extra bottle of water and a small backpack. It wasn't very far to drive and the van was fine. The walk afterwards was tough for me (almost 70) with many tree roots, rocks etc. We had called to ask what we should bring. It would have been nice to ask to bring my walking sticks (or mention on the website), which is very pleasant for older people. Now I got 2 umbrellas from Tia, which helped a little with support. The tour photos we could download later were also very nice! Thank you very much Tia and organization! We really enjoyed this day (11-09-2026).

Great experience in Port Douglas - Mossman

What a beautiful experience, we loved floating and exploring through the forest. The opening ceremony was also. wonderful, special thank you to the young man who shared his culture with us. Our guide was excellent - Guy is funny and knowledgeable. We had a nice lunch and snack as well.

Best thing you will ever do!

Backcountry Bliss Mosman River Drift Experience has long been a dream of mine and it didn’t disappoint! Our Guide Aidan shared his knowledge of everything rainforest and I learnt so much. Both Aidan and Tia ensured we felt the magic of this place, from the water ( so pure), the ancient trees, wildlife and connections to the First Nations people. Both my husband and I are 62, myself very cautious and my husband a pure adventurer. We both absolutely felt the magic of this place, loved the walk up river, the drifts with and without our sleds, all we learnt and the cuppa and biscuit at the end. If I could I would do this every week! Thank you Aidan, Thank you Tia! Fiona and Graham

One of the top days of our Cairns/PD trip

Came for the GBR and got swept away by the Daintree…well not literally, of course! The gorge and Mossman river float was one of the highlights of our time in Australia and we give major kudos to the guides that educated us, provided insight, and ensured we had an overall great time. It’s an active day but anyone in reasonable shape can do it. Best for outdoors types who like a little adventure but it’s nothing extreme. You should enjoy being in and around water/swimming, etc…. That is a big part of the experience. The water was cool but comfortable, refreshing, crystal clear with just enough current to provide a relaxing float. We both agreed it was well worth the time and money. Extra bonus: they take plenty of photos so you don’t have to worry about risking your phone in any way if you don’t want to. Photos provided for you free of charge immediately after via up/download.

Big Fun! Must do!

This was a wonderful day with swimming, hiking, lunch, and, especially, a super-fun river float. On the float the river flow is all class 1, so small rapids that were a kick but nothing scary for a swimmer of moderate ability. After a nice lunch (great chicken Caesar salad) there were two opportunities to swim on the hike, one by a little waterfall. I was glad I did both since they were VERY refreshing. Also I want to give a shout-out: We all know that enthusiasm is contagious. So is joy. Bridget, who accompanied us on our float was laughing and fun while also caring for us. She added to the day! P S. In the past I have had people ask for positive reviews and to have their name mentioned and that did not happen here.
