It's very crowded so get past the starting point. Further away from the parking area it gets less crowded.

This place is amazing

Not much visibility and poor weather, but still impressive and beautiful even in the rain. The line for the café was not worth waiting in.

No hassle tour to Lakes Louise and Moraine

The bus was comfortable. Our pickup was at the train station where there is free parking. It was a no hassle experience. We had sufficient time at each lake for what we wanted to do. The driver, Red, was knowledgeable. It was a good experience.

Driver

The driver had loud music and when he was asked v to turn it down, he did but it was still loud. The driver didn't communicate very well where to pick up the bus at Lake Louise. He should have asked people to make a note of the bus name, where to meet and time to come back.

Operator response

Thank you for the feedback. We agree on one thing: if the music was still too loud after you asked for it to be lowered, the driver should have turned it down further. Easy fix. 👍 But the rest is where things get interesting. At Lake Louise, passengers are given a return time and meeting location. We transport independent adults to one of the most famous tourist destinations in Canada — we unfortunately cannot issue everyone a GPS ankle bracelet and personally retrieve them from the lakeshore when departure time arrives. 😂 “Make a note of the bus name, meeting place and return time” is certainly good advice. It is also generally something travelers can do themselves. 📱 Take a photo of the bus. 📍 Remember where you got off. ⏰ Set an alarm for the return time. 🚌 Come back to the same meeting area. We will absolutely remind our drivers to communicate the instructions clearly, because communication matters. But at some point, the $89 shuttle driver cannot also become 24 passengers’ personal secretary, alarm clock, location tracker and camp counselor. We’ll work on the music. Everyone else: please remember where we parked the bus. 😂🏔️

Not family oriented priced

When we showed up to board the shuttle it was very unorganized, no markings on which shuttle bay to stand in. However once drive got there he calls names. I’m very disappointed is that I was charged me for a 9 month old who sat on my lap. Very shocking as my infant son flew for free to get to Alberta.

Operator response

Thank you for the review. We genuinely appreciate the feedback about the boarding area and agree clearer signage would make the pickup process easier. Now, about the shocking discovery that your 9-month-old required a ticket. 😂 Your infant flying to Alberta for free has absolutely nothing to do with how a completely separate ground transportation company prices its service. Airline policy ≠ Banff Explorer policy. McDonald’s gives free refills. That does not mean Starbucks owes you one. Our bookings are based on the number of passengers travelling, including children and infants. A baby is still a passenger. They still occupy vehicle capacity, are included in manifests, and must be accounted for when we operate a commercial passenger service. “But he sat on my lap!” Congratulations — he still travelled from Point A to Point B. 😂 We don't charge based on how many minutes someone physically touches the upholstery. Imagine booking for 12 adults and arriving with 12 adults plus 8 babies, then announcing, “Don’t worry, they’re all sitting on laps!” That is not how transportation capacity works. And comparing a Banff shuttle to an airline because your infant happened to fly free is especially impressive. Airlines sometimes let infants fly free under their own policies while simultaneously charging adults $70 to bring a suitcase. Different company. Different vehicle. Different rules. As for the pickup: once the driver arrived, names were called and passengers were boarded, exactly as you mentioned. We’ll take the signage criticism seriously. But the infant fare wasn’t a surprise invented at the bus stop. Next time, please review the passenger policy before booking instead of discovering after the trip that Banff Explorer unfortunately does not participate in the international “my baby flew free once” pricing agreement.

Perfect lake trip

Perfect way to get to lake Louise and moraine. Was nice to take the later 345 trip. Had just over and hour at each lake. Was enough time and the driver was prompt and we left and returned on time. Nice smaller air conditioned bus.

No tour, tour!

The local tour company is unreliable My tour was delayed from 9:30am to 2:00 and I just got “sorry”. They don’t care if one or two tours have problems it is just volume no hint of care or responsibility to make things right.

Operator response

Calling us “unreliable” because one vehicle experienced an unexpected mechanical issue is certainly dramatic—but let’s include the full story. The 9:30 a.m. departure was delayed because the original shuttle could not safely continue operating. Instead of gambling with passenger safety, we arranged a replacement departure at 2:00 p.m. We apologized, explained the situation, and offered compensation for the disruption. We understand that the delay affected your plans, and faster communication would have helped. That criticism is fair. However, saying we showed “no care or responsibility” simply because the resolution did not match your preferred amount is not accurate. We operate a high volume of tours because thousands of travellers trust us—not because we ignore the occasional operational problem. Unfortunately, no transportation company has discovered a magical fleet where vehicles never break down, traffic never exists, and every inconvenience comes with an unlimited refund. We are genuinely sorry your day was disrupted. But passenger safety came first, even if “sorry, replacement transportation, and compensation” still somehow translated into “they did nothing.”

Try another Banff carrier.

The bus driver arrived at 8:30 when we were told to arrive at 8:15. We then wasted 15 more minutes picking up two people from the train station. Our Lakeside Louise trip was shorter because of all of the waiting.

Operator response

Thank you for confirming that the bus arrived at the scheduled departure time of 8:30 a.m. Guests are asked to arrive at 8:15 a.m. for check-in and boarding—not because the bus is secretly scheduled to leave 15 minutes early. That is how departure times work. The additional stop at Banff Train Station was also a scheduled passenger pickup, not an unexpected sightseeing detour. This is a shared mountain shuttle, not a private limousine operating exclusively around one guest’s stopwatch. Tours in the Canadian Rockies involve multiple pickup locations, mountain traffic, park conditions, wildlife, and limited-access roads. A short operational adjustment does not mean your entire Lake Louise visit disappeared into the wilderness. We understand that everyone wants maximum time at the lake, but describing a normal 8:30 departure and a scheduled 15-minute pickup as a major failure is a little dramatic—even by mountain standards.
