Montreal City Sightseeing Tour with Live Commentary

Liked the tour once we finally got on it. We had confirmed that we would be picked up at 12:15 in front of our hotel and were out there at 12:05 but at 12:30 had not seen them yet so I started trying to call the tour number and got someone who answered who said they would check on the situation and put me on hold then let me know. However, I was on hold for almost 30 minutes and no one ever came back to explain what happened. We were about to give up when at about 1:05 someone came to pick us up with no explanation about what happened or why they were so late. The driver simply drove us to the tour bus that had already started so we missed the first 10 minutes of the tour. No one ever apologized or explained what happened. Once we were on the tour bus we enjoyed the tour and the tour guide's commentary.

Francois was an excellent speaker and his knowledge was extraordinary. Personable and relatable. Bus driver was great also.

We didn’t get off the bus much. And weren’t able to go into the church. We also didn’t get to go to the top of the mountain because of a bike race going on. Very disappointing. We went to a market instead and it was not anything but a grocery store and coffee shop.

The guide was very nice; he knew the history of Montreal well. He was patient, his information was clear. It was bilingual French, English. We visited almost all of Montreal. Starting from downtown, passing through Old Montreal, then Outremont, Côte-des-Neiges, Mount Royal, Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, Sherbrooke Street East towards the west. It was very pleasant, to be recommended to travelers, and even I, who have lived in Montreal for 50 years, found the guided tour super pleasant. I even noticed that I didn't know the whole history of Montreal. Yet I did my studies in Montreal. Guaranteed pleasure for everyone.

We felt our tour guide was excellent (both in French & English). However, the bus was too big and preferred the smaller van we had in St.John's a few days prior.

The bus was comfortable but smelled strongly of air freshener. Our driver spoke in French and English the entire tour, which was a little exhausting listening the entire ride. I’m sure he was tired! Good information and a nice general orientation of Montreal. There was a bike race that prevented us seeing what is usually seen. That was not known to us when booking.

My wife and I were in Montreal getting ready to leave on a cruise and we wanted an interesting time-killer. We chose this offering and my wife prepped us for a 2-1/2-hour walking tour of Montreal; you can imagine my delight when we checked in with our tour operator and found out that we’d be spending four hours on a bus ride instead. Our excellent driver AND guide was Dominic. This is kind of a sedentary activity but we’d walked a long distance the day prior and the thought of riding around and seeing the sights rather than walking was appealing to us. Dominic took us around the town during which we stopped near the Notre Dame Basilica for a brief time and we also were dropped off for about 30 minutes at a neighborhood market, not a tourist trap, where the passengers had the chance to buy some fresh foods; many of us did. Dominic did a great job navigating Montreal’s tortuous streets, 110% of which seemed to be under some form of construction and were obstructed. This was a nice, entertaining way to see what Montreal is all about.
