Your experienced local guide will take you deep into the park, where you’ll have the chance to witness herds of wild Asian elephants roaming freely in their natural habitat. During the dry season, you may even experience “The Gathering,” when hundreds of elephants congregate around the reservoir — a breathtaking sight found in very few places on Earth. But the adventure doesn’t stop there. Keep your camera ready for spotted deer, sambar, water buffalo, crocodiles, and an incredible variety of birdlife. Minneriya is world-famous for hosting one of Asia’s largest seasonal elephant gatherings.
