Midnight Sun Whale & Puffin watching from Reykjavik

Description
Go whale watching under the beautiful midnight sun during Iceland's summer months of nearly 24-hour daylight. Admire the special glow of the evening sun reflecting off the waters of the North Atlantic as your English-speaking guide helps you to spot these magnificent creatures. Set sail from Reykjavík's Old Harbor at 9 PM on Rósin, a custom-built boat for whale watching tours in Iceland. Kit yourself out in included warm overalls to stay comfortable during your trip, and enjoy the boat's facilities, such as indoor and outdoor viewing decks, 2 restrooms, and a snack bar. Spend between 2-2.5 hours looking for whales and puffins with an experienced guide. The most common species seen in Faxaflói Bay are humpback whales, white-beaked dolphins, harbor porpoises, and minke whales, and the summer months also bring puffins to the bay — keep your eyes on the water for these charming seabirds darting between the waves. Finally, return to the harbor just before midnight.

Humpback whales galore! We had a fantastic trip. Very knowledgeable and professional staff. Highly recommended.
Thank you for your kind review! We are very happy that you had a fantastic time with us! Thank you for highlighting our staff. And thank you for recommending us!!
Puffins were fabulous! Whales not so much, we saw a Minke Whale, and a juvenile blue whale that came out of the water and flipped his tail so we could identify him. It was an adventure. Luck of the draw only two whales.
Thank you for your kind review of our midnight sun tour for whales and puffins! We are glad you enjoyed the puffin part more and could see many, many puffins. Regarding the whales, we're sorry this didn't fully meet your expectations, even though you enjoyed it.
Was a very moving experience - we saw humpback whales, dolphins and mink whales and had a very competent and friendly guide. We were very touched by these amazing big creatures. Just sad, that some tourist just watched them through their phone lense... You should definetly put your phone away, once in a while!
We saw a bunch of humpback whales and had a knowledgeable guide. I will say that the description said we would get waffles and hot chicolate and we did not.
Fantastic experience. Knowledgeable guide. Reliable equipment. Lifetime memories. Would highly recommend
Wasted couple hours of life. Spent several hours bouncing around in ocean. No whales seen. Save your money for better tour
This was an amazing tour! We weren’t sure if we’d have time to squeeze in whale watching, so this midnight sun tour was perfect for us. Even though the weather started out rainy, it cleared up by the end and would’ve still been fabulous regardless. They offered fully waterproof suits that kept us dry and warm! We saw minke whales, a THOUSAND dolphins, and a humpback. Many birds including puffins were fun to see, too!! Katalina & Kati at reception were so warm and welcoming, they made this a great tour from the minute we walked in. The captain kindly stayed out a few extra minutes for us because our sightings were so great. Our guide was so knowledgeable and passionate about the animals and she was so engaging. Even if you don’t see a humpback or other larger whale, just being out on the water and seeing other marine life was beyond worth the trip. Thank you again so much everyone!
All of the tours in Iceland were accommodating- except for this one. We waited for other people in our group on 2 different tours, because the guides were kind and understanding. One of those instances made us about 20 minutes late for our whale watching tour, but the company and guides were not accommodating at all. We explained that we couldn't have known 24 hours before that another tour company would be gracious to their customers, causing us to be a few minutes late. They did nothing to accommodate us, and everything was out of our control. I would advise anyone with enough common sense to know that things do happen outside of one's control to stay away from this company.
Saw a humpback whale!! Really a must see if you are going to Iceland. We saw tons of birds some dolphins and another type of whale.
A wonderful trip. There were so many whales. Also dolphins. Great crew. Very nice and knowledgeable guide. Highly recommended.
