Mendenhall Glacier Lake Canoe Tour

Description
Experience the beauty of the Alaskan wilderness on this 3.5-4 hour adventure to the Mendenhall Glacier. This adventure starts off at the cruise ship docks as an expert guide will transfer the guaranteed, small group on a narrated 30 minute journey to the West Glacier boat launch in the Tongass National Forest. Guests gear up in top quality waterproof gear and after a quick paddle lesson, will launch the canoe onto the Mendenhall Lake to start the journey. Surrounded by steep cliffs filled with Arctic terns, mountain goats, porcupines, and other wildlife; enjoy the serenity of this adventure deep into Alaska. Feel the cool brisk air coming off the glacier as the guide safely navigates the canoe to the best viewpoints of the blue crevasses and seracs on the toe of the Mendenhall Glacier. Be one of the few to step away from the crowds and get face to face with glacier. This Tour is canoeing only and DOES NOT INCLUDE a hike.

Great adventure! Our guides Elymus and Elisha were awesome. I would definitely recommend these 2 and the tour.
This tour was the best way to get up close to the Mendenhall Glacier. Our guide, Brady, was prompt, fun, knowledgeable, and considerate of each person’s varied abilities. He is a great asset to this company!
I am not kidding when I say, this experience is a must! Hannah and Brady were our tour guides. They were fun, knowledgeable and engaged with everyone on the tour. They give you all the gear you need for the adventure. I couldn’t imagine that we would be able to get this close to a glacier but we did!! It was AMAZING!! Thank you Hannah & Brady for an absolutely fantastic day!!!
August 17,2026 This excursion was a last minute booking as our original excursion was canceled due to weather. We got off the ship and went to the tour company’s booth dockside. The agent there was great, her advice was spot on! Our Guides Hannah and Brady were AWESOME, their knowledge, humor and enthusiasm were spectacular! They took what started out to be a bad day and made it GREAT! Thank you Hannah and Brady! Highly recommend this excursion.
Elisha was such a great tour guide! He was knowledge and had great energy. Would highly recommend booking to see the glacier and waterfall up close.
Elisha was an awesome guide! He matched our energy with sea shanties/songs, stories, facts, and jokes when we requested them. It was his second tour of the day but his energy was still great. Highly recommend him as your guide :)
The canoe tour was, without a doubt, the best part of our Alaska stop in Juneau. I went on a canoe trip with 9 of my friends, and we had an absolute blast. Not only did we learn a lot about the town and wildlife, but the history as well. Elisha, our guide, was phenomenal. He was hilarious throughout the entire trip, and matched the vibe of our group immediately. For those of you who are worried about the physical demands of this trip, do not fear! Elisha gave us plenty of breaks, and always found ways to make the experience memorable and accessible. I could not recommend him enough!
Elisha “Medinhall Madman” is the best guide ever. He was our guide for the canoe excursion and he was so kind and attentive. A great mix of singing, funny jokes, and informative stories about the glacier and lake’s history. 5/5 experience!
Best guide Elisha kept the party going, had the best time while seeing the sights and being fun and educational. Easy to find, super friendly, brought out the competition in us and made the tour the best it could be. Worth every penny with Elisha - truly the Mendenhall madman
Elisha was a great guide! He was incredibly patient, kind, and knowledgeable for our group of 10. Highly recommended
