Grind City Brewing, the embodiment of the city of Memphis… the hard work, blue collar sweat that keeps the city rolling. Grind City brewery is on one of the bluffs of the Mississippi, in the old home of the Tri-State veneer and furniture factory. Grind City refurbished and reused scrap wood and furniture materials to keep the history and spirit of the building alive and give homage to the uptown area it resides in. Table, walls, bar tops, flight boards and more are all re-used factory materials. Grind City has a mission to be a part of Memphis, they work with many charities in the community including St. Jude Children’s hospital, Angel Street, Folds of Honor, the Streetdog Foundation and more.

Brothers Davin & Kellan Bartosch dreamed up WISEACRE many moons ago & have been on an extensive quest procuring top-notch experience from around the globe to deliver the crunkest brewery possible in their groovy hometown of Memphis, TN.
Crosstown Brewing was founded by eager homebrewer Will Goodwin and Clark Ortkiese in 2018. The brewery uses beer and good cheer to strengthen the community. The location of their brewery sits adjacent to the old Sears Crosstown building built in 1927 and sadly sat empty for years and fell into disrepair. In 2017 if was renovated and returned to service as a vertical urban village, the Crosstown Concourse. It houses a grocery store, several restaurants, retail stores, offices, a YMCA, a high school, a post office… and of course right next to Crosstown Brewery.

We’ve done so many tours over the years and this was up there as one of our favorites! The perfect mix of informative and fun, nice pace, not rushed. Loved that each stop was very different and the beer was great!

Brian was a fabulous tour guide. Very informative about beer in general, the brewing process and all also things Memphis. Took us to three breweries where we tasted a great range of beers, with the last brewery in particular making you feel like a local and we didn’t want to leave.

We had the absolute best time on our city brew tour with Brian! He was so knowledgeable and passionate about craft beer and he made the tour so much fun! Over the last 20 years, we have gone on many food, beer, distillery, winery and ghost tours. This was by far the best experience we have had. Brian was intentional about reaching out prior to the tour with additional information needed for the brewery tour. He also gave us great recommendations for different restaurants and neighborhoods to explore in the Memphis area. Don’t miss this tour when you’re visiting Memphis! Next time we are in the area, we will go on another tour with Brian for sure!

This tour was well worth the price. There were only four of us, and tour operator was extremely nice. He was very knowledgeable about the beer making process, and gave us a step by step of how different beers are made. We sampled a lot of beers, and went to three different breweries. He even; dropped us off at our hotel. This is a tour I can truly recommend.

From beginning to end, this tour was outstanding. My brother, nephew and I really enjoyed the tour. Brian was very informative, knowledgeable and humorous. He knows the history of beer, beer making and how this industry has been a large staple in the Memphis, TN area. I will keep this tour in mind for when family and friends come to visit Memphis, TN.
