Considered one of the best treks in Nepal, the circular trek around Manaslu is a less busy alternative to the classic Annapurna Circuit Trek. Hiking from the steamy terrace fields of rice in the lowlands to the snowbound Larkya La Pass near the Tibetan border is a physically challenging trek. Being remote, rich in local culture, and stunning scenery, we think it’s worth it. Some of the highlights include the Budi Gandaki River gorge, where icy turquoise water flows over waterfalls and under suspension bridges. And the 5,167m Larkya La pass, where crampons may be needed. From the pass, stupendous views lay behind and ahead – including a great glacial cirque and Annapurna II towering above other mountains. This remote area still has a pioneering expedition feel, much different from the more trekked routes. If you like more isolation and less trekkers on the trail, inexplicable natural beauty, and are physically fit, this trek is worth exploring.

Manaslu Circuit Father/Daughter Trek
I am not normally in the habit of providing reviews however given the outstanding level of service provided by Magical Nepal for our recent Manaslu circuit trek, I am more than happy to share our experiences.
My daughter and I started researching our trek over a year ago and following correspondence with a few companies we decided on Magical Nepal. We could not be happier with our choice.
Our trek was scheduled to start on September 9 however given the horrific situation unfolding in Nepal we were uncertain whether to proceed or if it would be cancelled. Communication throughout from Magical Nepal was outstanding giving us confidence to continue.
From airport pickup to our in office meeting with Sulav, we could not have been more impressed with their professionalism.
That was until we met our guide Pramod who raised the bar another level. We consider ourselves incredibly fortunate to have been paired with Pramod.
From hotel pickup on our 1st day to the day we said goodbye, Pramod made our adventure the experience we'd hoped for as well as making a friend for life.
The trek itself was incredible, challenging, demanding, beautiful with simply breathtaking scenery and amazing people.
Pramod was the perfect guide - courteous, respectful, funny, calm, super safety conscious with an unsurpassed knowledge and pride in all things Nepal as well as a broad general knowledge and curiosity about the world in general.
We felt in safe hands at all times and were pretty confident either he and/or Magical Nepal had sourced us the best tea house accommodation and rooms at every village.
I have no doubt we will return to Nepal and will only book any trek through Magical Nepal and would absolutely request that Pramod be our guide again if he was available.

20 Days in the Himalayas, What a Treat!
My partner and I recently did the Manaslu-Annapurna circuit trek with Magical Nepal and wow, it was such an incredible experience. Hiking for 20 days through the Himalayas was an experience we will remember forever. We both had an absolute blast and we felt so lucky to have booked with Magical Nepal and had KP as our guide. It was clear straight away that KP is incredibly experienced when it comes to guiding hikers through the Himalayas. He knew all the best lunch spots, the tea houses with the nicest views and knew every single Himalayan peak with its exact height and history, mitho mitho mitho! KP is an incredibly attentive, knowledgeable, hardworking, and funny individual. Quick to crack and joke and always jam jam-ing for dal bhat! KP was also incredibly adaptable when the weather turned for the worse on our trek. KP had the plan, the backup plan, and then the backup-backup plan and was able to communicate those plans very clearly to us. All in all, this was truly an experience of a lifetime for us. Magical Nepal is a fantastic company, KP is a stellar guide and it truly was a pleasure to share the trail with KP for our trek.

Trip of a lifetime :)
We spent 21 days hiking the Manasalu and Annapurna circuit. It was the hike and experience of a lifetime, and we cherished every single second!! Some of the many highlights included seeing 8,000m peaks for the first time, Manasalu Basecamp with views of the peak from 4,800m, being in towns with no road access- donkey and foot access only, and the kindness of local people. We could not imagine the experience being what it was without our incredible guide, KP. Our guide KP helped us manage the altitude, providing us with helpful advice and reassurance as we gradually went up. KP adjusted the pace of the hike when my hips got sore, and after realising we were very interested in history and culture, KP stopped often to explain the significance of buildings, landmarks and temples. We were treated to the most incredible food, the generosity of both the local communities and other travellers, and often found ourselves listening to singing, the crackling of a fire or the sound of someone wining the game of cards we played each night. Toward the end of the trek, we were faced with wild weather conditions- KP kept us safe, he constantly communicated and adjusted the plan as we gave him our hopes and concerns. I would recommend this trek for the views and experience of high altitude culture; and I would recommend KP to everyone, he is the most incredible guide: knowledgeable, professional, hilarious and kind. We felt like we had the VIP experience!! Thank-you KP and magical Nepal 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼

12/10 Experience!
I had the best experience with Magical Nepal! I joined the tour as a solo traveler, and by the end of it, I had met such an amazing group of people.
Our guide, Pemba, was truly exceptional. He made sure everyone felt comfortable, included, and well taken care of throughout the entire trip. I always felt completely safe on every tour, which made the experience even more enjoyable.
Overall, this was an unforgettable adventure, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I would absolutely book with Magical Nepal again and highly recommend them to anyone visiting Nepal. Pemba did a 12/10 Tour! Loved Everything!

Manaslu Circuit Trek with Sajan, Subash, Sagar, Anil and Rajan
I can start the review by saying that if you're still deciding on weather to go with magical nepal, you can stop over thinking and just GO book with them. We honestly had such a positive experience throughout the trek.
If you're trekking solo, they're the only company that i've seen which allow you to see who's going on a trek and book with them. We we're a group of 6, two were my friends and 3 were other solo trekkers. It's safe to say that we all clicked and bonded within a few days which made the trek even more magical.
Our guide Sajan and assistant guide Subash were both informative, kind, fun, and friendly. They were always checking up on us and made sure we didnt have any issues throughout the trip. They were also very flexible with the two of us in the group that wanted to go faster than the rest of the group.
Also a huge shout out to our porters - Sagar, Anil and Rajan. We could not have completed this trek without them.
With regards to accommodation, be prepared for basic amenities. I want to say tho, we always felt like we had the best rooms throughout the trek. Sajan always phoned the tea houses ahead and made sure we had the better rooms. The food was generally good throughout the trek and we had an insane amount of masala chai throughout
In summary, Book with them! You'll be well taken care of.

June Manaslu Circuit Trek w/ Jay Tamang
Jay Tamang was my guide, and I had the best time possible. Not only did he know the ins and outs of the trail, but he also provided the warmest hospitality and facts about the places/mountains that we saw. He was constantly asking me if I was doing okay and needed to rest/eat. He even brought varieties of snacks and fruits to be enjoyed at the trail or at the teahouses! With it being the offseason for the trek, we rarely encountered other individuals in the trek, but it never felt like that because Jay would always try to have conversations. I would highly recommend Jay to be your guide!

Bishal: The Guide Who Made Nepal Unforgettable
I cannot recommend Bishal highly enough.
From the moment I met him in the hotel lobby the evening before our trek began, I knew we were in good hands. He was exceptionally thorough in preparing us for the journey ahead, carefully explaining the equipment we would need, what to expect on the trail, and answering every question with patience and clarity.
What makes Bishal exceptional is not only his professionalism and experience, but also his ability to connect with people. He is open, curious, knowledgeable, and genuinely interested in those around him.
Throughout the trek, our group included people with different abilities, walking speeds, and expectations. Bishal managed this effortlessly. Nobody ever felt rushed, left behind, or made to feel inadequate.
Every day he briefed us on the following day’s route and conditions, ensuring everyone felt prepared and confident.
One of the things I appreciated most was the pace he set. Too often, hiking can become focused on reaching the next destination. With Bishal, the journey itself was just as important as the destination. We stopped at beautiful viewpoints, took time to rest, enjoy snacks, and appreciate our surroundings. Lunch was always a proper break, and there was time to interact with local people and enjoy the villages. Every day flowed naturally and seemed perfectly organized without ever feeling rigid.
His ability to adapt to changing conditions was particularly impressive. On one day, heavy snow was expected on a section of the route. Rather than following the itinerary blindly, Bishal carefully assessed the conditions and recommended an alternative. One of the stronger trekkers continued on a higher route with him, while I chose a different excursion to a nearby lake accompanied by another member of the team. That decision led to one of the most memorable experiences of my trip, including an unexpected visit to a local temple where I was able to observe prayers. Later that day, we all reunited at the tea house. Bishal’s flexibility allowed each person to have the best possible experience.
His attention to individual needs was equally remarkable. Early in the trek, I mentioned that I would prefer a private room if possible. From that moment onward, he consistently planned ahead with the tea houses to arrange one whenever accommodation allowed. In remote mountain lodges this is not always possible, but the fact that he remembered and made the effort throughout the trek demonstrated how attentive he was to each person’s comfort and well-being.
Another quality that stood out was the respect he had earned throughout the region. Wherever we stopped, he would engage naturally with tea house owners, local villagers, Sherpas, and other guides. It was clear that many people already knew him, and when they did not, his warmth and openness quickly created a connection. You could see how much people genuinely liked and respected him. Because of those relationships, we always felt welcomed wherever we went. We were not simply passing through as tourists; we felt connected to the communities we encountered along the way.
Perhaps the greatest gift Bishal gave us was a sense of trust. As this was my first visit to Nepal, everything was new to me. Yet I always felt completely safe. His knowledge of the trails, weather, terrain, and local conditions was extraordinary. He always explained what lay ahead, whether a section would be steep, easy, challenging, or long, allowing us to prepare both physically and mentally. Even when adjustments needed to be made behind the scenes, he handled them calmly and confidently. Knowing that he had everything under control allowed me to fully relax and enjoy the experience.
What impressed me even more was that his support did not end when the trek finished. After returning to Kathmandu, I still had some time before my flight home and wanted to do some shopping. Having never been to Nepal before, I had little idea where to go, what prices were reasonable, or how to judge quality. Despite having just spent nearly two weeks away from home leading our trek, Bishal generously took time out of his own schedule to help me. He met me in Kathmandu, took me around the city on his motorbike, showed me the best places to shop, advised me on quality and pricing, and helped negotiate. This was completely beyond what anyone would expect from a guide, and I appreciated it enormously.
I would also like to mention the excellent quality of the mountain duffel bags provided by the company. We were given the option to keep them afterwards, which I gladly did. Mine has become a wonderful reminder of an unforgettable journey.
Looking back, what I remember most is not only the spectacular landscapes but also the people who made the experience so special. Bishal’s professionalism, judgment, generosity, positivity, and genuine care for those around him set him apart.
If I return to Nepal, I would choose Bishal as my guide again without a moment’s hesitation.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a comprehensive and deeply moving review! We are immensely proud to read about your experience with Bishal. His ability to balance safety, group dynamics, and true local connection is exactly what we strive for, and hearing how he managed flexible routes, secured your private rooms, and introduced you to the heart of mountain culture is truly special.
Going above and beyond—like touring Kathmandu on his motorbike to help you shop after a long 2-week trek—is a testament to Bishal’s incredible character. We are also thrilled that your duffel bag made it home with you as a lasting keepsake! Thank you for trusting Magical Nepal for your first journey here. We will gladly share this beautiful feedback with Bishal, and we look forward to welcoming you back to the Himalayas!

Enjoyable guided trip with Pramod in Manaslu circuit trek
Mr. Pramod is frequently recognized for his "good vibes" and constant positivity, which is a significant asset during the more grueling sections of the Manaslu Circuit.
Professionalism & Vibe: We trekkers describe him as always exceptionally professional. He is known for taking care of all logistics—For example, from selecting the best teahouses to ensuring meals are prepared to our satisfaction—allowing us to focus entirely on the trek.
Safety & Care: He is noted for his attentiveness to his clients' well-being, particularly regarding health and safety in high-altitude environments like the Larkya La Pass.
Expertise: Having a guide who knows the local culture is vital; the upper regions of Manaslu are rich in Tibetan Buddhist culture, and a guide like Pramod helps bridge the gap with local communities effortlessly, enriching our journey with deep cultural insights

Thank you for taking the time to share such a thoughtful review of your Manaslu Circuit trek. We are delighted that Pramod's positivity and good energy carried you through the tougher sections, including the crossing of Larkya La Pass.
You have described exactly what we look for in our guides: professionalism, careful attention to safety at altitude, and a genuine understanding of the local culture. The Tibetan Buddhist heritage of upper Manaslu is one of the most rewarding parts of this trek, and we are glad Pramod helped you connect with the communities along the way.
We will share your kind feedback with Pramod and the team, and we hope to welcome you back to Nepal for another Himalayan journey.

Unforgettable Adventure
If you are looking for an incredible adventure, the Manaslu Circuit with Magical Nepal is an absolute must-do!
This trek is full of unpredictable moments, which is exactly what makes the whole experience so fun and truly worth living. What made our journey genuinely special was our amazing guide, Paramod.
Paramod’s knowledge of the region's culture and religion is exceptional. Whether explaining the nuances of Buddhism and Hinduism or sharing fascinating local insights, he kept us captivated. He taught us all about Yarsagumba (the Himalayan caterpillar fungus), which was really interesting. He even carried extra fruit with him just so we could enjoy it after dinner. It’s these small, thoughtful gestures that show how much he truly cares about his guests.
His English is excellent, making conversations effortless and engaging throughout the entire trek.
Thanks a lot to Magical Nepal, Paramod and Steven for making this trip unforgettable.

Thank you for this wonderful review of your Manaslu Circuit adventure. You are absolutely right that the unexpected moments on a remote trek are often what make it so memorable, and we are glad you embraced every one of them.
Pramod's knowledge of Buddhism, Hinduism and local traditions adds real depth to this trek, and we love that he introduced you to Yarsagumba and the story behind it. Small gestures like carrying fresh fruit for dessert say a lot about the care our guides have for their guests. We will pass your thanks on to Pramod and to Steven.
We are honoured to have been part of your journey and hope to see you again in Nepal.
