Description

One look at the Malahat SkyWalk’s sweeping views and visitors are instantly in awe. The striking 10-story spiral tower brings guests 250 m above sea level to take in 360-degree sightlines of islands, fjords, forests and mountains. Leading to the tower, the 600 m elevated walkway places guests among the soaring treetops of the west coast’s Arbutus and Douglas Firs. And thrillseekers can traverse the net at the top of the SkyWalk and fly down the “Insta-famous” spiral slide within the tower. Local hot and cold bevvies and snacks from the Café can be enjoyed in a number of picturesque seating spaces. Located just 35 minutes from Victoria, this classic Island experience can be enjoyed by all ages and is wheelchair and stroller accessible.

Itinerary

Admission included

Immerse yourself in pristine nature: a steep, forested mountain, high above the Salish Sea. Ascend the spiral ramp to peak adventure. At 250 m above sea level, the tower offers some of the best views on Vancouver Island, including a sweeping panorama of Mt. Baker, Finlayson Arm, the Saanich Peninsula, and islands in two countries. Explore the West Coast from a whole new perspective and then choose your descent with a return walk down the ramp or take the fast route on our Spiral Slide. The arbutus, or Pacific madrone, appears wonderfully exotic with its smooth chartreuse wood covered by reddish, papery bark. It grows on rocky coastlines and, in spring, bears white flowers that smell like honey. In autumn, red berries help feed many of the local birds and wildlife. Coming down from the tower on the 20 metre spiral slide might be the only thing as awesome as the view from the top. Go ahead, take as many turns as you like – we’ll understand.

Wonderful experience!

This skywalk is a marvel in construction. The walk to the Tower is built in the forest. You feel like you are on the canopy of the forest. The climb up is gradual and very comfortable. Our fifteen year old loved the slide about ten stories up! He went down three times. The views from above are spectacular! Highly recommend this activity. Earlier is best; it gets busy quickly.

Don’t miss the slide! ...

Don’t miss the slide! Super fun. Mellow walk up a ramp with great views. If you can get over your fear of heights, you can look over the clear railing up top, look down the clear floor or walk across the cabled floor.

Great attraction nestled in forest. Fun for all!!

Amazing experience. Very easy, scenic walk to the ‘tower’, even with strollers. Also easy walk to the top. There are three options (included): walking out onto small glass platform; walk onto large elastic floor with slight bounce, and/or slide down a tube (much of the way down). I tend to fear heights and enclosed spaces but had NO trouble doing all of these. We are in our 70s and enjoyed everything as much as the kids around us. There was also a bird (raptor?) talk and demonstration. Staff was very helpful and encouraging. Plan to spend about 1 1/2 hours to enjoy.

The views are fantastic....

The views are fantastic. Such a beautiful area Be sure to wear long sleeves. I was brave and went down the slide but got off balance on the first right hand turn and got a couple minor skin burns

Must do!

Our family was visiting from the US, and we decided to do this mid-day. The hike was amazing. The views were incredible. The walk along the path was easy despite the weather being slightly hot. The slide down was super fun!!! The free activities were good for kids. Highly recommend it.

Malahat SkyWalk Experience

It is very special and nice - the entry tickets are a bit too pricy. We did not book it but just went there by ourselves. Stunning views, lots of nice things to see and explore. Overall the price is a bit too high, bit still worth going to see it.

Totally worth the trip.

This is a unique experience. Beautiful views. Just happy we got there early before the crowds and before the rain. It was a cloudy day but still very cool. We did rent a car rather than take a tour bus.
