Malacca City (also spelled Melaka) is the capital of the coastal state of Malacca, in southwestern Malaysia. At its center, Jonker Street, Chinatown’s main thoroughfare, is known for antique shops and its night market. Nearby, the 17th-century Chinese Cheng Hoon Teng temple has ornate decorations and multiple prayer halls. A green, 3-tiered roof tops the 18th-century, Javanese-influenced Kampung Kling Mosque.

We had a fantastic experience with THS Tours and Travels during our trip to Malacca, and a special thanks to our driver, Selvam! He was punctual, friendly, and made the entire journey smooth and comfortable. Selvam was very professional and helpful throughout the trip. He made sure we had enough time to explore the beautiful tourist spots in Malacca and also shared useful information about the places, which made the visit even more enjoyable. Excellent
It was great to visit Melaka and, for the amount of time we had, we managed to see quite a lot. In hindsight, we would have preferred to travel independently by bus and stay overnight to have more time. Despite being advertised as a night tour, we left around 7pm, before sunset, so it didn’t really feel like an evening experience. Our guide, Kelvin, took us to a Portuguese restaurant where the food was delicious. He had plenty of information to share, without it ever feeling overwhelming. One small suggestion would be allowing some free time in the shopping streets — it felt a little awkward going into shops with a guide following, and we would have enjoyed the chance to explore independently before regrouping. Overall though, Kelvin was an enthusiastic guide, who looked after us really well.
