Madeira Surreal East Tour

What a fantastic experience, Romero our host and driver could not have been more helpful. His knowledge during the tour gave us a valuable insight into the history of Madeira. Romero also has a fantastic sense of humour which made the trip even more interesting. He took us to the fabulous views at Pico de Areeiro before the crowds followed by the short hike to Ribeiro Frio which had a stunning vantage point. The Miradouro do guindaste skywalk although nowhere near as high as Cabo Girão had lovely ocean views and not the crowds. We had a lovely stop for lunch in Santana to see the replica traditional Madeiran houses and then really enjoyed the stop at rum factory in Porto da Cruz where once again Romero carefully explained the rum making process. The final stop at Ponta de Sao Lourenco was amazing, the cliff views were absolutely stunning just be careful it can get quite windy but Romero made sure we understood and everyone was safe. We would totally recommend this trip especially with Romero - Obrigado

We booked with Madeira Surreal for an unforgettable private tour of Madeira’s spectacular central mountains and dramatic east coast yesterday. The day exceeded our expectations; Ramon our guide was fantastic, with a route so perfectly timed, to maximise our time in nature - rather than a minivan! we were thoughtfully ahead of crowds at each location and able to enjoy our time there relaxed, exploring without pressure. Ramon’s knowledge of the island, plants, habitats and way of life drew our attention to things in a way that has given us a much deeper appreciation of everything we saw on the tour. We felt in such good hands. If this is something you can do while visiting Madeira, you won’t regret it. Memories to last a lifetime! Thank you

Since we didn’t have the ticket for the hike, our guide Romero, drove us to rum distillery and we’ve got to try the rum and the biscuits for free! He also drove us to “secret Miradouro” which you cannot find it in any other tour 😉

Full day tour with excellent information and variety of sites. The guide was very informative and provided information in English and Spanish. We were contacted the night before to register for our PR trail registration (4.5 euros each). Pickup and drop off was at each of our hotels which made it very convenient. It was a group 8. Lunch was not included but plenty of choices available at stop in Santana.

Excellent set of experiences - Romero was superb - amusing, informative enthusiastic and well organised.

The guide was such a kind person which had a vast knowledge about the island. It also knew many places which were both thrilling and astonishing. Id definetly book again for another ocasion!

The guide Romero was amazing and very knowledgeable, he knew all the good spots and what time to get there to avoid the crowds. Gave us plenty time to hang around spots we liked and still cover multiple areas totally recommend

This was an amazing tour! Romero knew and told us a lot about the island, was a great conversationalist and took us to some really cool places!

We had a great time on the East tour. Romero was our guide and he was really knowledgeable about the island and we took his advice to set off slightly earlier than planned to miss the queues and big groups which meant we were often the only ones at the viewpoints. This was a minibus tour so there was little walking involved so it's great if you want to see the peaks and sights without spending hours trekking on foot. Overall it was excellent value for money, Romero made the day enjoyable and interesting - highly recommend.
