The transfer from Luxor to Hurghada was safe and overall went according to plan. We were picked up as arranged and the driver waited for us at Dendera, which was appreciated. The service was generally good and we had no issues during the journey. However, we had an uncomfortable situation at the end of the trip. We were asked for a fairly large additional tip, which was not clearly mentioned when we booked the transfer. In my opinion, when you book and pay for a private transfer, the agreed price should cover the transfer itself. We understand that tipping is very common in Egypt, but in this case the amount requested felt excessive and unexpected. There was also an additional external driver who ended up joining us in the car as a passenger. We were asked beforehand if we had any problem with this, so we agreed, but it did create some tension and made the situation a little uncomfortable. Overall, the reservation was fulfilled as planned, we were properly taken care of, and the journey was safe. My main complaint is about the expectation of a substantial additional tip at the end for a transfer that had already been fully paid for. I would recommend clarifying any expected additional tips or fees at the time of booking.
