Outstanding Customer Service

We have just experienced the Lodge stay at London Zoo, and it was great. At first it seems quite expensive, but for what you get, it is great value. The lodges are right next to the Lions Kingdom. You also get privileged access between 7-8 am to just see the Lions, that are quite active at this time. The guide sleeps on site and is therefore there if you need any help. You get a very good breakfast and evening meal. You get two days entry, three private tours when the park is closed by the excellent friendly knowledgeable guides. You feel very privileged having the park to yourselves, and you even go behind the scenes to see how the animals food is prepared. You also get 10% off most of the outlets on site by just showing your invoice. The park is very clean and well maintained, as you walk around to see a great variety of Animals and Insects. In my opinion London Zoo is not just about seeing the exhibits in their lovely spacious environments, it is also about the fantastic five star customer service we experienced. My wife has walking difficulties, and they supply a pre-bookable, high quality easy to manoeuvre, and free of charge wheelchair, with just a £25 refundable deposit. When we arrived we were met by Sharm who was just brilliant. He allowed me to park the car outside the entrance and helped my wife into the wheelchair, drop off the luggage, and then allowed me to park opposite, as he could see the issues I had with carrying luggage from the main car park down the road, as we were booked into the adapted lodge. When we left we spoke to Ellis in the shop who refunded our deposit, and then unbelievably said take the chair to the car, and I will carry your luggage. The check out exit was at least 500 yards away from the car. And them when we were about to leave Sharm had spotted us, and came across the road and asked if we had a great time. This was so lovely, and just finished off a great stay at London Zoo. If the management has an 'Employee of the month, or year award' both Sharm and Ellis should win it for outstanding caring customer service.

Family fun day

It is one of the ultimate family days out. Zoo town is so fun and a great addition to the zoo. The animals are well displayed with interactive options in some exhibitions. Sham is a wonderful welcome at the entrance and he helped to get us sorted through the tickets.

Family trip - children aged 11-18

I visited with with partner and our children ages between 11-18. Margaret served us at the ticket kiosk and was brilliant. She was very helpful in terms of giving us hints and tips about the zoo and made our experience even better. Thank you Margaret. We all thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will definitely be coming back.

A Mother and Daughter Treat!

An amazing day, with lots of opportunities to get up close to the animals, speak to keepers and also some lovely, welcome support as we are both disabled. Defence Discount Service discounted entry tickets but without it was great value. We decided to go last thing and even though it was busy with the summer school holidays it felt spacey. Loved it! I hadnt been myself in decades and my daughter (18 years old) had never been so a real treat to visit together. We even got cheeky temporary tattoos.

It's especially lovely to hear that you found our team welcoming and supportive, and that the accessibility assistance helped make your visit even more enjoyable. We're so pleased you both had such a great experience, right down to the temporary tattoos! We hope to welcome you back again soon.

Enjoyable day

Enjoyed our visit to London zoo. It was incredibly hot so most of the animals were inside or asleep but we still managed to see most of them. They seemed to be well kept with play areas available to them. Saw previous comments about animals kept in small spaces but it is a zoo, not a park where they have larger areas to roam in so you should expect the space available to be smaller. Staff were all friendly and helpful on the day. Plenty of water stations to fill your own bottle which we thought was very good.

Operator response

Thank you for your review. We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed your visit and were able to see so many of our animals despite the hot weather. It's wonderful to know that our team made you feel welcome and that you appreciated the water refill stations around the zoo. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, and we hope to welcome you back again soon.

Fun Day Out!

Embarrassed to admit I didn’t even realize London had a big zoo despite living here, but a visiting family member specifically asked to go, so off we went. We were warned that because it was a very hot day when we went, they couldn’t guarantee we would see all animals because they may have to shelter from the heat. That impressed me right away because it showed they were prioritizing the animals’ welfare. I think the only animal that was even a tiny bit difficult to see were the tigers, and even then it was really cute because they were sprawled under a shelter resting in the shade just like our cats at home. We worried that the crowds would be overwhelming but the flow of the exhibits worked really well and people kept on moving. Also recommend lunch in nearby Primrose Hill (so cute) and if you’re feeling energetic, a walk up to the Primrose Hill viewpoint of the skyline view of London. Be warned tho—after walking around the Zoo and eating lunch, you may find that viewpoint hill a tough climb.

Lovely visit

I had a wonderful time at the zoo today, firstly I was met by two lovely ladies at the gate, Skyler and Julia who pointed me exactly to wear I needed to be. Saw so many cute upgrades since the last time I went. Keep up the good work!

Disappointed

Unfortunately I found the whole experience disappointing experience… largely because we saw so few animals. I understand that they may be sleeping/ hiding etc… but the entry fee is very expensive and not seeing many animals largely defeats the purpose. On the plus side, the staff was just lovely!

Operator response

Thank you for your review. We're sorry to hear that your visit was disappointing and that you weren't able to see as many animals as you had hoped. While many of our animals have access to indoor areas and quieter spaces where they can choose to spend their time, we understand how frustrating it can be when they're out of sight. We're pleased to hear that our staff made a positive impression, and we'll be sure to share your kind comments with the team!
