Felix and Michael were amazing guides the waterfall hike and river tubing was excellent!!! Definitely need to be in ok shape to do the hike though we had so much fun !!
This was a fun time! On the hike to the waterfall we made a stop and jumped off a rock into the river! Right before the waterfall, we had to use a fixed line to pull ourselves against the current to reach the waterfall. It was a very fun time and I highly recommend it! Be sure to bring a dry bag for your phone (they provide one as well) as you’ll be in water for the majority of the time. You’ll also see a decent amount of wildlife to include monkeys!
Everything about our waterfall hike and tubing was great. The hike is a little challenging but not bad at all and the guides help everyone. The waterfall was amazing and Wilbur and Felix were great guides. We did the tubing after and that was just our family of 4 with 4 guides who made sure we had an amazing time. We had a blast!
This excursion was the highlight of our two-week trip to Costa Rica. We booked the private tour with our kids, aged 7 and 9. The tubing felt very adventurous and thrilling but still safe for the kids. The hike to the waterfall included some amazing experiences like a bat cave and swimming through a natural rock tunnel. Our tour guide John was very friendly, knowledgeable and great with the kids. Everyone felt very comfortable and had a fantastic time. Wish we could do it again!
We had a wonderful hike and river tubing experience! Our guides Brandi and Diego were so helpful!! The hike and entrance to the water fall were a wonderful experience for our family!! It was difficult but Brandi and Diego were focused on everyone's safety!! The river tubing was so fun!! The guides helped us navigate the river and kept us safe!!

Ronny was such an amazing guide. We did the hike and the tubing and both were fun but the hike and water falls really blew us away. Not a beginner hike and you end up crossing a few rivers so expect to be wet! Views were so cool of the falls and not many people here this time of the year. Felt safe in the tube rapids with 3 guides for the group of 4 of us. Thanks to Ronny for a great day!
This was a great tour and beautiful waterfall. But the trek to get there just about killed me! lol I quickly realized just how out of shape I was. You definitely need to be able to climb rocks and handle a bit of a swim. But once you get to the waterfall it’s magical! The tour guides do a great job. The tubing experience is amazing!
If you are considering the La Leona waterfall hike and tubing excursion — book it immediately. This was hands down one of the highlights of our trip to Costa Rica. The entire experience was adventurous, exciting, beautiful, and incredibly well run from start to finish. Our guide, Wil, could not have been better. He was thoughtful, considerate, attentive, and made everyone feel safe and included throughout the entire experience. You could tell he genuinely cared that every person was having a great time. He struck the perfect balance of professional, knowledgeable, fun, and encouraging during the more adventurous parts of the hike and water crossings. The whole staff was fantastic. Everyone was engaging, energetic, and made the entire day so enjoyable. You could feel how much they loved what they do, and that energy made the experience even better. The hike itself was incredible — fun, scenic, and full of adventure. The waterfall was absolutely spectacular and worth every step. The swimming sections and river crossings added such a unique and exhilarating element that made this feel much more than just a typical waterfall hike. The tubing excursion was an absolute blast. The guides worked HARD the entire time to keep everything moving smoothly while making it unbelievably fun for the group. We laughed constantly. It was exhilarating, chaotic in the best way, and such a memorable experience. If you want an authentic, adventurous, and unforgettable day in Costa Rica with an outstanding team leading the way, this is it. Highly, highly recommend!
