Tour Options
Itinerary
This tour will include two of Rome's most popular tourist attractions, the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. History will be brought to life as your expert guide enthralls you with evocative tales of how life was lived in ancient Rome, and how thousands gathered to be entertained and excited by the sight of gladiators and wild animals literally fighting for their lives in what was often a gory, bloody spectacle.
Your Colosseum experience will be followed by a stroll to another iconic symbol of Rome, the Roman Forum, which for hundreds of years was a focal point for the everyday lives of the citizens of ancient Rome. It once witnessed triumphant processions to reinforce the power of the empire, and it was also a political hub where elections were held and important political figures would address the masses. Moreover, it was an important centre for trade.

Cannot recommend this tour enough!! Perfect for my family, with many stops and kid-friendly explanations and experiences. Our tour guide was outstanding, you can tell he has enthusiasm and extensive knowledge. Our tour was so high quality that another person on a tour *literally* stopped our guide to ask if he could join our group (not joking- the guide handled it by very kindly declining.) I’ve unfortunately forgotten his name or I’d give him a shout out and 400 stars!
We used Rome with Kids for our Pompeii, Colosseum in Rome and Vatican in Rome. Both tour guides were very informative. They really catered to our son when it came to explaining and sharing information but also included us adults. We used their optional add-on car service for Pompeii and were really happy we did. The driver bought us the best cappuccino we had in Rome at a gas station! There was a little mix-up with our tickets to the Colosseum but our tour guide was able to fix the situation and get us in smoothly.
Was absolutely brilliant Lara the organiser communicated with us beforehand. Everything is well organised including the meeting point. Giacomo our guide was fantastic he kept the kids occupied through the whole tour. He used his tablet, a selection of books and kids activities to keep their attention. I’m so glad we booked this it was absolutely worth it and absolutely brilliant!
On our recent trip to Rome, we wanted a little more than just a picture with the must see sights in ‘The Eternal City’. Given our daughters’ (11,8,6) short attention spans, we enlisted the help of Mamma Mia tours. For our Colosseum tour, our guide, Sara, was engaging, easy to understand and informative at just the right level. She began by telling us a story and continued with the tour having the girls play games, keeping them engaged by having them search for things, paid attention to what things they were into and gave us a skip the line tour. It was an enjoyable morning, well worth it. We also booked them for a Vatican Museum Tour. Our tour guide, Cristina was also engaging. Our daughters also really enjoyed her personality as she played games with them and told great stories. We all learned so much about the Sistine Chapel, that was our highlight. At the end of this tour, we excited Bascilica and I wish we would have stayed inside and explored a bit more but that was our mistake. Booking concerned me as I didn’t always get a quick response, twice having to send follow up emails. Not sure if it was the time difference or what but in the end I am very pleased with the level of professionalism of the guide and the ease of the meeting up point. I would use this tour company again.
