This was so much fun! We are a family of three with an 8 year old. Nat was our instructor and she was awesome. Her English is great so I understood everything. I learned several things about sushi that I had no idea about and a few useful tips about Japan. We made several types of sushi and ate what we made. Yummy!

I'm so happy to hear that you all had fun making sushi together and that you learned something new about sushi and Japan. Your 8-year-old did a fantastic job, and it was great to see everyone enjoying the experience. I'm especially glad you enjoyed the sushi you made—it always tastes even better when you've made it yourself! 😊 Thank you again for joining my class. I'd love to welcome your family back anytime! Nat

Morris is so fun and welcoming. This class is taught in his home and the experience was amazing and a unique look into Japanese culture. He has two kids and understood about our kids (10 and 12) and was very amenable to our "Americanisms." Highly recommend for an unforgettable experience. We had a guide to get us here, but I imagine it might be hard to find if I was navigating this on my own.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! It was a pleasure meeting you and your family. I'm delighted to hear that you enjoyed the class and the opportunity to experience a little bit of everyday Japanese family life in my home. I was especially happy to see your children leaning in and fully engaging throughout the experience. They were curious, enthusiastic, and a joy to teach. Thank you again for joining us and for taking the time to share your experience. We hope to welcome you and your family back to Japan someday! Morris
It looks easy just to watch craftsmen making it, I learned that there are more types of material than I expected and there are many different processes.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful review! We’re really glad the experience gave you a deeper appreciation for how much skill and preparation goes into sushi making. It often looks simple when watching professionals, but as you discovered, there are many ingredients, techniques, and steps behind each piece. We hope you had fun learning and creating your own sushi, and we’d love to welcome you back anytime for another hands-on experience!
We had such fun with Nat, learning sushi history and etiquette, and how to make four different types of sushi. The program is varied, well-designed and everything was well-organised. I loved the ‘Pop Quiz’ at the beginning and the little history lesson; which dispelled some misconceptions that I had held about sushi. I learned a lot. I particularly liked that food hygiene was paramount. Nat is an excellent instructor, and a warm and friendly person, with a relaxed style. She explained every step, provided great hints and tips, and made sure we were getting to grips (literally) with new techniques. She made everything seem easy, even tricky rolling techniques, like the Inside-Out sushi roll. That has given me a lot of confidence, and I can’t wait to try my new-found skills when I get home… if only I can find some decent fish! There was a lot of sushi to eat, once we had finished - so make sure to bring your appetite with you. We enjoyed our time with her greatly and I highly recommend this course.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a thoughtful and generous review. I truly appreciate not only your kind words, but also the care with which you described your experience — reading it genuinely made me smile. I’m delighted to hear that you enjoyed learning about sushi history and etiquette, as well as the hands-on techniques. The Pop Quiz and short history session are very close to my heart, so it means a lot to know they helped clear up some misconceptions and added depth to the experience. Sushi is not just about making food — it’s about understanding the culture, the mindset, and the respect behind it. I’m especially glad you mentioned food hygiene. This is something I take very seriously, and it’s wonderful to know that this came across clearly during the class. Creating a safe, clean, and comfortable environment is essential for everyone to relax and truly enjoy learning. Your comments about the instruction itself really touched me. Sushi rolling — especially techniques like the inside-out roll — can feel intimidating at first, so hearing that you left feeling confident and ready to try it at home is exactly what I hope for every guest. If you do manage to find some good fish back home, I’m sure your sushi will be fantastic. Thank you again for your warm recommendation and for sharing your experience so generously. It was truly a pleasure having you in the class, and I hope our time together becomes a happy memory of your time in Japan. If you ever return, you would be most welcome to join us again. Warmest regards, Nat
Sushi making experience that I have always been interested in! This time, I joined with a family from the United States. Not only making sushi and eating it, but also learning sushi knowledge and Japanese culture in quiz format, so I as a Japanese learned a lot, not only foreign people but also children enjoyed it! It was also good to be able to do it in an at-home atmosphere while talking to the staff. We were able to make not only nigiri sushi but also warships and cute sushi art, and we all had delicious food at the end.
素敵なコメントありがとうございました! 日本人にとって身近なお寿司でも知らないことが多いものですよね! 是非ご自宅でもお寿司作りを楽しんでくださいね。 ご参加ありがとうございました!
In a warm and friendly atmosphere, the two hours flew by. When nigiri sushi, battle ship shaped sushi, inside-out rolls, and decorative sushi which I made were beautifully arranged on the plate, I was so delighted. It was my first time making decorative sushi, but by following the instructions, I was excited to see the beautiful patterns appear when slicing it. Not only can you enjoy sushi-making, but you can also learn about the history of sushi, dining etiquette, as well as Japanese food and language. I highly recommend joining this tour!
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the atmosphere and that the time passed so quickly. It’s great to know that making decorative sushi for the first time was such an exciting and rewarding experience for you—the moment of seeing the patterns appear is always special! We’re also glad you appreciated learning not only the techniques, but also the history, etiquette, and culture behind sushi. Your recommendation means a lot to us, and we hope to welcome you back again for more sushi-making adventures in the future!
We did the class with Nat and found it to be an enjoyable highlight of our visit to Japan. Nat speaks English well, is knowledgable and has a good command of knowledge about sushi. She answered all of our questions, and the presentation was very informative.
