The staff, with a rich knowledge of the city, will help make a special memory for your trip. We will take you to see interesting things you would not find in guidebooks or on websites. The rickshaw's speed is faster than walking but slower than cycling, which makes it a comfortable, wonderful ride. Enjoy Japanese history, traditions, and the seasonal beauties from a rickshaw with our staff's omotenashi (hospitality).

An amazing experience
I was visiting Japan with my friends and we had organised to get dressed up in Kimono then to have a Jinrokisha ride. Great honest service with clear pricing per time. Our driver Leo was lovely. He was courteous and appeared to genuinely care about providing a great experience for his customers. He lived locally and his love for the local area was palpable, and local knowledge of the area was excellent. He took us to the "real Japan" away from the main streets to a gorgeous bridge and to the serene forrest area where we were given opportunities to have photos taken. Wearing kimono and being transported in Jinrikisha felt like we travelled back in time. The ride was a memorable experience and I would highly recommend it.

Dear Happinessgirl,
What a wonderful review. Thank you very much for choosing Ebisuya Rickshaw to explore Kamakura. Our tours can be customized to suit your preferences and interests, and include the major sights of Kamakura, but with a local and knowledgeable guide like Leo, take advantage of exploring the neighbourhoods from a local point of view to get the most time of the rickshaw tour.
Go beyond the guidebook, and enjoy lesser known - yet beautiful sights. Of course the guide knows all the best spots to take picturesque pictures of you in a kimono on our rickshaw, a wonderful combination!
Ebisuya Rickshaw is in other cities in Japan as well, we hope to explore more of Japan's beautiful locations on your next visit!
Kind Regards,
Ebisuya Rickshaw

Awesome Experience
I (F) was traveling solo to Kamukura and decided to avail of the Ebisuya Rickshaw services. I was scheduled for a 10:30 rickshaw, unfortunately due to train delays that day, I asked to reschedule to 11:00am which they gladly granted. I had Satoshi Arai as my rickshaw driver and he was very accommodating, friendly, and informative. As a female solo travel, he not only made me feel safe, he also took plenty of great photos and videos for my family and friends back home. I extended my 1 hour ride to 1.5 hours instead (I would have extended to 2 hours, but I had a schedule afterwards). I would highly recommend their services especially, my rickshaw driver, Satoshi. Thank you!

Dear PlannerJo,
Thank you very much for booking a rickshaw tour with us in Kamakura last year! Even though over a year has passed, we are still happy to read your review about your experience and our guide Satoshi Arai.
The tour options we offer online are the most popular options, but it is always to extend a booked tour on the spot by 10min increments to better suit your preferences and interest! We hope that the time you spent in Kamakura was memorable.
Come and visit us again when you come and visit!
Kind Regards,
Ebisuya Rickshaw

Charming staff and beautiful scenery 😍
We had such a lovely rickshaw ride around kamakura and the bamboo forest temple. Our driver Toya was so knowledgeable and spoke excellent English, he was such a charmer and made our trip very memorable. I would highly recommend a trip with Kamakura rickshaw if you are looking for a fun activity in a beautiful destination 😊
Operator response
Dear Krish,
Thank you very much for choosing Ebisuya Rickshaw for a tour through the charming town of Kamakura, including the bamboo gardens and the temple.
We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the tour and that communication with your guide Toya was no problem.
Besides studying the history, religion and culture of Kamakura in detail, our guides also take care in expanding their vocabulary in foreign languages to better communicate and be able to share their knowledge and enthusiasm of Kamakura to our non-Japanese speaking guides.
Come and visit us again some day!
Kind Regards,
Ebisuya Rickshaw

Wonderful Kamakura
I experienced the 90 minute course. His first rickshaw driver was Isao Yanase.
I'm glad that Isao Yanase is the first rickshaw driver. He told me all the time, and even I, who didn't understand the shy history and times, enjoyed it in a friendly way. The photos were taken like a professional and I enjoyed it so much that they called me princess because I didn't look like a princess.
The bamboo forest of Hokokuji in Kamakura was wonderful. I didn't really feel like it was there before I went, but when I saw it ... it was amazing. On the way, he talked about various trivia, and I often thought, "Wow!"
Above all, the hospitality was really great.
Thank you very much for your time.
I didn't go out to Kamakura because it's so close, but I'm thinking of going back and experiencing it.

Souvenir of the Heart
It was my first time riding a rickshaw, but I thought there was no profession that could entertain people like this. I really enjoyed visiting the famous places in Kamakura!
Thank you very much, Mr. Yoshitaku!
My wife is very happy because of this!

First rickshaw on 10th wedding anniversary
I used it for my hotel plan. It was the first rickshaw in my life and I didn't know how to get there, so it rained on the day morning, so is it okay to rain? When I asked him, he welcomed me cheerfully, saying that rain would be better. It seemed that the rickshaw might rather rain. The plan was about 15 minutes, so we paid an extra fee to change to a 30-minute course. We visited Furukawa-tei, Eisho-ji Temple, and the Kawakita Film Museum in Kamakura. It was a great learning experience for me to be able to explain each place I had never visited before. I want to be exposed to this place more. They smiled and enlivened me throughout, and they took wonderful photos like an album with their smartphone cameras in various places, creating many wonderful memories. It was a petite trip on our 10th wedding anniversary, so it was a lot of fun and a lovely memory. We have been hesitant so far, but it will be a very enjoyable and satisfying time. Thank you for your lovely memories to Tonohime of Nerima Ward, Mr. Ike-chan, the husband!

A pleasant experience in Kamakura
The tour was originally scheduled to last 45 minutes, but it was early in the morning, so we added a course to extend our leg to Hokokuji at the recommendation of the charioteer, Mr. Kaneda. The rickshaw ride was a bit different from the view point of Kamakura, and the rickshaw driver, Kanada-san, talked about his unique route and enjoyed it throughout. I was told that it was unusual for Hokokuji to have a photo taken, but well, I am very happy that you made full use of the features of your mobile camera to leave me with the best moments that I could never take! It's true that rickshaws go up in price, but once you've had this experience, it's a price you'll love. If you want to use a rickshaw in Kamakura that gives you the humanity to control it, you definitely need to be Kaneda-san.

Special Experience
Departure from a back road near the entrance of Komachi-dori Street in clear weather. While drawing attention, cross Komachi-dori Street to Ninotorii. Explain Dankuzu and cross the traffic light to a narrow alley.
Around an area I had never been before, I took a narrow road that could not be passed by cars and ended up on the side of Hachiman-sama. It ends at the Kamakura store in Dankuzu.
Funny talk, scenery, and never tire of a photo shoot.
It was fun, I could see Kamakura I didn't know, and I had a special time.

Thank you very much for your inspiration!
I was able to fully enjoy the charm of Kamakura from both knowledge and scenery! Thank you for the truly luxurious and quality experience of riding a rickshaw and enjoying the historic city...!!!
My fiancé and I had a very memorable day.
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Yoshida for his wonderful guide with a wonderful smile throughout, and to everyone at the Ebisu restaurant for their attentive and cheerful hospitality!
This time, it was a 30 minute course with no time, but it was fun and really quick… I hope we can take more time next time to taste the guidance slowly!
After we get married, we'll come again!!! Thank you so much for your support!
