We are amazing, passionate, professional, and knowledgeable about Galveston's African American culturally rich sites! It was founded by Dr. Araminta Coleman Sorrell, a native of Washington, D.C. who loves Galveston and its glorious history, especially its Black history. Thank you! It was a pleasure touring with you.
Dr. Sorrel generously provided us with a wealth of information about the history of Galveston. We learned about how people related to one another throughout Galveston’s history prior to and since Juneteenth. We learned of famous people from Galveston and also about people’s everyday lives and experiences. She shared about the unique geography of the island and how people have learned to live with it.
Thank you very much for the review. It was a pleasure touring with you and I hope to see you again on Galveston Island!
This experience is packed with the history of Galveston and beyond. While you may know some of the history so much more detail was given to historical events some I knew and some I didn’t. Also, this experience connects to a lot of what is going on today. I would recommend this experience as it was the highlight of our vacation. Our tour guide is an excellent source of the history of Galveston. You will walk away, feeling glad that you had the experience.

Tour was excellent! We all learned a LOT! The guide was very positive, knowlegeable and informative. We loved the history of the means and methods of how ex-slaves made a living. Geographical tie-ins were interesting as well as sooooo much more. We truly encourage you to take this tour with Lady Juneteenth! Laura and family

The tour and the tour guide was excellent. We were on a girls trip and all of us agreed that we learned so much about Juneteenth in Galveston! The guide was knowledgeable and enthusiastic, which made most of us want to know more. It would be a great experience for families with grade school children.
