1859 Ashton Villa
The extremely wealthy eccentric Betty Brown’s spirit is forever roaming the elegant halls of Ashton Villa. Many have seen Betty wearing a turquoise dress and carrying a fan during lavish event held at the mansion. Even death can’t keep Betty from being the life of the party…and scare the guests half to death.
One of over 200 historical markers on the island, this is the former residence of Olga Samaroff who is known to still haunt the home until this day.

Only one person ever liked living at the Normandy Inn and that was the man who brought Satanism to the island. One week after construction, a young boy threw himself out of the window… AND LIVED. When asked why he did such a thing, he replied, “Something evil was going to kill me”. Now The Normandy Inn has become a pilgrimage site for those who practice voodoo, black magic, Satanism and witch craft. Many sacrificial rituals have taken place here including… A HUMAN! To this day, it is still used as a portal the hell.
Many guests to this hotel have told stories of a lonely lady wandering the halls, some even having full conversations with her. But in the morning, realizing that she never existing at all!

Free Admission to What? The sidewalk?
We booked the tour because we were given the false impression that we would be actually going into different haunted places. All through the itinerary that I read before booking AND after booking, showed “free admission” into various places. Here’s what we got instead: Ghost stories standing before different places and an inaccurate account of what happened and why. Read Issac’s Storm and one might learn what’s true. Anyway, their description led us to believe that our tour was going to be something much more than ghost stories told on the street here and there. So falsely advertised that we left after a few stops when realizing we were not experiencing what was expected. I speak for a party of 4. We all felt the same. It was awful. I gave them a horrible review on TripAdvisor and they came back at me and basically called me a liar. They said the never spoke about “free admission” anywhere and that is just so untrue. I have taken a screenshot of our itinerary in case they go in and try to change their wording, and I have my e-mail with the itinerary. I have used Viator before by myself or with friends booking, and I have never had a problem such as this. Terrible.

Great Night
This tour was excellent. Jeff was very knowledgeable and give us a great tour of Galveston. He gave us all the historical notes and showed us to some great bars. I highly recommend this tour and you should ask for Jeff.

Tour was fine, not very spooky.
Tour was fine, I can’t say it was spookie - covered the Hurricane, Industrial Explosion and a couple murders but was not very ghost oriented.

Who you gonna call?
Although I wore the wrong shoes, since I had just come from an upscale dinner, the walking tour had enough stops for stories, and went at a gentle pace. Host Jeff was informative and knowledgeable about the history and lore that he shared with the group of 25. I'm glad I went!

We were Ghosted…
The description gave me the impression that we were going to go into different places. I guess the “free admission” was standing on the sidewalk in front of the buildings. It was nothing like I imagined. It was just story time. We left the group after 1/2 hour and returned to our condo.

The homes and buildings featured on this tour are privately owned and occupied, so the tour is conducted from public areas while sharing the history and stories associated with each location. We do offer other tours that include entry into specific properties, but this is not advertised as one of them. We’re sorry the experience wasn’t what you expected. Amazing Ghost Tour
We had such a great night on the Ghost Tour in Galveston! Blake our tour guide was absolutely fantastic — funny, engaging, incredibly knowledgeable, and you could genuinely tell how much he loves what he does. We learned so much about Galveston’s history along with all the ghost stories — from Toby the cat 🐈⬛👻 and Ms. Betty to the absolutely heartbreaking story of the Great Galveston Hurricane of 1900 and the thousands of people who lost their lives. Blake has a way of telling the stories that keeps you completely interested while still making the tour fun. We laughed, learned a ton, got a little creeped out 👀😆 ... Definitely one of the highlights of our Galveston trip. If you’re looking for a fun way to experience the spooky AND historical side of the island, take a tour with Blake — highly recommend! 👻❤️
