Description
Discover a spectacular stretch of the Athabasca River where canyon whitewater gives way to expansive mountain scenery. Begin at the base of Athabasca Falls, where rushing water flows into the Athabasca Canyon and the whitewater action starts right away. Navigate a series of exciting Class 2+ rapids between high rock walls, surrounded by a remarkably secluded wilderness setting.
As you travel downstream, watch the scenery transform as the canyon gives way to the wide-open Athabasca Valley. The river widens, the rapids become more spaced out and sweeping Canadian Rockies views unfold around you. This combination of exciting canyon whitewater and spectacular mountain scenery makes the 12 km (7.5-mile) Canyon Run an adventure that adults and children can enjoy together. No previous rafting experience is required, and ages 5+ are welcome.

Important Information
Suitable for all physical fitness levels
Participants must be at least 5 years old.
Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult parent or guardian.
No previous rafting experience is required.
Wear your swimsuit under your regular clothes to make changing easier. Bring a towel and warm clothing for afterwards, plus water and a snack.
Wetsuits, paddle jackets, life jackets and neoprene booties are provided. On colder days, bring an additional fleece, wool or other non-cotton layer to wear under your paddle jacket.
Trips operate rain or shine.
Check in 15 minutes before your scheduled departure at the white Maligne Rafting van in the public parking lot at the corner of Connaught Drive and Hazel Avenue (638 Connaught Drive, Jasper).
All participants must complete a liability waiver before rafting.
All departure times are in Alberta Mountain Time (MT).
Allow approximately 3.5 hours for the complete experience, including round-trip transportation from Jasper, changing, safety briefing and rafting. Return times are approximate and may vary with traffic, river and operating conditions.
Minimum participant numbers are required for this trip to operate. If minimum numbers are not met, you will be offered an alternative departure or a full refund.
Raft assignments are made at the guides' discretion based on group size and safety considerations. We will make every effort to keep parties together.

Relaxed rafting in beautiful surroundings
Nice excursion with Colin and Trevor. Professional people, clear instructions. Ideal if you want to raft without significant risk, you get a little wet, but wetsuits keep you warm. Also suitable for children, beautiful tour through the landscape. Enjoy!

Great experience
A great combination of rapids and enjoying the beautiful scenery. The guides were great and kept us on time so that we had as much river time as possible.

Super fun experience - would do it again anytime!
We had a super great, fun afternoon on the river. Our tour guide Rian not only steered us safely through all the rapids, but also provided us with plenty of information about the wildlife and nature in the calmer passages. It was an all-around successful experience, we would book it again anytime!!

Fantastic experience
Had a fantastic experience with the team. Colin was our guide and was brilliant. Pointed out lots of interesting things whilst we went down river, whilst expertly navigating the river, giving us plenty of thrills through the rapids. Sat at the front and got thoroughly soaked, which made the experience more enjoyable! Brilliant morning, couldn’t recommend this trip enough.

Jasper 2
The address for pickup was on the opposite side of the street so that was confusing. The parking cost was beyond expensive. The equipment was very good. Our guide was Ryan. She was great!!!

Family fun
It was a great low key experience. It's always fun to see where people are from when the guides ask. This time around - there was Netherlands, Germany, USA, and us Local Canadians. They truly made it as if they were walking out of their house to host your experience and some of them were. Since they lived in the same campground as your stay.
