I’ll show you why on this self guided audio tour through this fairy-tale city nestled in the mountains, split in two by the river, and dominated by the Hohensalzburg Fortress. Hard to follow
This tour has good information but it was hard to follow. I had to keep the app open almost the entire time because the guide didn’t give the nest instructions for getting around. Also, skip this if you’re going in September or October 2026. Nearly every stop was under construction. I’m not exaggerating. They were either closed, blocked off, had scaffolding covering them, etc. it was really hard to get around. Mix that in with the 1 million tourists who stand in your way constantly, and I was honestly pretty aggravated after this tour. I love VoiceMap in general and have done probably a dozen of their tours. But this one needs some updating, or at least waiting until construction is finished.

Visit to Mozart's birthplace
Recommended on city tours it is not worth visiting, between this and the house where the second lived best. Every comma they make a museum, I expected something more and background music of the artist.

The tour guide had a sense of humour and was helpful in attractions. Great to go at own pace and was able to pause.
