Sustainable change of perspective
The Indigenous-led tour through Old Montreal was a truly enriching experience for us: Our guide conveyed the colonial background of the city very vividly and had a lot of visual aids with her. It was particularly impressive how she managed to show even supposedly familiar places in a completely new light, so that you really understood the true history behind them.
After the tour, she also took the time to give us some personal recommendations. Overall, she was warm, polite, and clearly committed to sharing her knowledge with us.
A clear recommendation for anyone interested in the indigenous perspective on this city and who wants to truly understand the impact that European settlement had on local communities.

10/10 Tour, Would Recommend Across the Board
This was such an important, informative and engaging part of our Montreal trip. Sophie did an amazing job sharing indigenous and non-colonial points of view. She did an incredible job creating a space where we could all learn freely and ask questions while discussing some dark themes. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone wanting to challenge traditional historical narratives in Montreal.

Excellent !
My teenage daughter and I loved this guided tour which gave us the chance to address the hidden aspect of Quebec's history.
Sophie-Claude is very friendly and full of passion. She shares elements of her own story, making the presentation even more compelling.
Until now, we had only skimmed the history of the indigenous people. We'd visited Montreal before but we learned so much more this time.
We would very much appreciate having more tours like this one.
I highly recommend this tour to everyone !

Eye-opening Tour
Sophie was an incredible tour guide who described in detail an often overlooked history through events, places, and objects throughout the old town of Montreal. I would recommend this tour to anyone and want to think Sophie for sharing her live experience and knowledge of the indigenous peoples of this place. Thank you for making it safe and welcoming place to ask any question.

Illuminating tour
Sophie was a wonderful tour guide and the price was worth every penny. Due to the rain, my son and I were the only ones on the tour and we loved i!. All the things Sophie pointed out were things that we would have never seen by ourselves. At one point she literally moved away a tourist Adirondack chair that was covering a plaque commemorating the Paix des Braves agreement with the Cree and Quebec. I think that moment was representative of the entire tour. She helped uncover a history that wasn't on most prominent signs/maps and showed us a different way of seeing Old Montréal. My teen and I were talking for the rest of the day about the tour (and as folks with teens know sometimes it can be hard to get them to talk at all :-) ). We also appreciated her recommendations on local attractions and museums that work with First Nations, Metis and Inuit communities in the right way rather than put on an exhibit about their cultures.

Thank you for this thoughtful and detailed review! I'm so pleased that you and your teen enjoyed the tour so much and spent the day talking about it! Sophie-Claude is an amazing guide and knows how to reveal the dark and largely erased history from the colonial era. I quite liked the image of her removing an Adirondack chair, which as nothing to do with Montreal's history, to reveal symbols from an indigenous peace treaty. It is the perfect metaphor for the tour - smashing through the tourist gaze to learn often neglected or unsettling truths.
