Jacobsen, and his son, Carl Jacobsen. A story about how disputes between father and son and widely differing perceptions of beer brewing have shaped Carlsberg. Through interactive games and videos in the exhibition, you will learn more about the science that has played an essential role for Carlsberg since its foundation and its importance for the development of beer worldwide. You will also experience one of the world's largest bottle collections, with more than 22,000 beer bottles. And that is just a fraction of what the exhibition contains.

Very good experience and learned a lot during the tour
Great experience! The tickets are good price and the experience was organised very well. We got some drinks too during the brewery tour and really enjoyed our time there!

Interactive exhibition in a historic building, with beer and horses!
Interesting tour of the historic brewery. High quality exhibition with a focus on the history of the family and how they built their business; lots of old equipment to see but less information about that. Interactive elements that were fun but a bit limited (for example, designing your own beer label but turned out to be from a small number of templates). You get a decent glass of beer at the end from a selection of about five different ones, including a non-alcoholic option. There are horses to see in the stables too. We spent about 1.5 hours there. Easily walkable from Carlsberg S-Bahn station. Nice shop with lots of different beer-related items.

Best beer experience in the world? Probably!
Excellently managed experience with friendly staff and an outstanding a/v presentation encapsulating Carlsberg’s origin story. Beer tasting experience was a unique opportunity to visit the original cellar and learn about different beer styles. Loved the stables with resident Clydesdales and really glad such a profitable business maintains the philanthropic ethos of its founding father and son.

A enlightening experience
A genuinely interesting experience! The brewery is lovingly preserved, with as many modern amenities added as possible, without detracting from the aesthetic. The history of the Jacobsens drive, passion and philanthropy was one I knew very little about prior to visiting. With contributions to the Sciences as well as Danish society, Carlsberg is more than just great beer. I would highly recommend any visitor to Copenhagen to have this on their list of places to go! Plus complementary beer is included, so Skål! 🍻
