Before you go into the Home of Carlsberg exhibition, you are invited on a secret cellar guided tour, where the historic beer cellars from 1847 take centre stage. The tour begins along the Carlsberg way with a beer in hand, and takes you past J.C. Jacobsen’s former villa. Then, you descend 14 metres underground. Here, you’ll gain a rare insight into the working lives of the brewery workers and the crucial role the cellars played in Carlsberg’s early operations.
After your guided cellar tour, you’ll explore the 3,000 m² exhibition. It is dedicated to Carlsberg’s history, from the very first brew to a global company. Through interactive games and videos, explore the science that has played a vital role at Carlsberg since its foundation and its importance to the development of beer worldwide. The experience ends with a perfectly served beer straight from the tap in the beautiful Carlsberg Bar.

Stay away - rip off
We have been Living in Copenhagen more than 30 years and never been exposed for such a rip off. Three very small beers in the beer tasting for 30 euro a person is an overcharge of dimensions. A tiny bag of chips for 4,5 euro. We will never go again. On top the guided tour was a complete comercial experience putting Carlsberg in front of all other beers in the world and that’s not really the truth, is it?
Operator response
Hi Jeppe,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your visit didn’t live up to your expectations.
Our Beer Tasting is designed as a guided tasting experience, where our hosts introduce the beers, their characteristics and the stories behind them. We understand, however, that you didn’t feel the experience offered good value for the price, and we appreciate you sharing that perspective.
As Home of Carlsberg is dedicated to the history, heritage and development of Carlsberg, our guided experiences naturally tell the story from a Carlsberg perspective. That said, our intention is to share this history and our passion for brewing, rather than to diminish other beers or breweries.
Thank you again for your feedback. We’ll make sure your comments are shared with the relevant team.
Kind regards,
Yakoub, Home of Carlsberg

Loved it!
What a fantastic experience - loved every sec. The beer tastings were great, food options - though limited - was good. Displays and short documentaries were an absolute delight. Tour guide was amazing and so too were the staff at the shop, bar etc. Will happily return if ever again in Copenhagen.

Curious story of: THE BEER
We had a blast with our tour gide Sofie, who even was willing to take a picture with four guys and their nation's flag. Definitely best museum ever.

Fantastic interactive museum - a little boring walk in the basement
Museum: We think it is a very exciting museum, where information is provided and there were many interactive options that could be saved using the chip on the bracelet.
The basement: The guide was good at telling but it was a little disappointing only to see a very very small part of the basement. The trip was only about 1/2 hour.
Beer tasting: we had also ordered beer tasting. The guide was very knowledgeable and gave a good popular information about beer and how to taste. There were 3 beers included, each of which got about 1/3 - 1/2 beers. We were lucky that he gave us an extra beer - we were not so many and asked a lot in.
