Itinerary
Depart the city and journey north towards the Highlands, past the magnificent Forth Bridge
We make our first stop in Pitlochry, a picturesque Highland village. Why not treat yourself to a coffee and pastry from one of the local cafes and enjoy a stroll through the charming streets before our journey takes us further north.
We stop in Glenfinnan where we get our first glimpse at the world-famous Viaduct and the stunning Loch Shiel, both recognisable from Harry Potter. Pleas note that stopping at Glenfinnan to view the Viaduct with the bus is subject to availability.
We arrive in Mallaig, the starting point of our Jacobite Steam Train journey. Mallaig is known for being a fishing village, so take the opportunity to sample some fish and chips before the train departs.
Time to board the train! A bucket-list item for many, the Jacobite Steam Train boasts incredible views of Scotland’s natural beauty. Sit back, relax and lose yourself in the Hogwarts experience.
En route back to Edinburgh, we visit Scotland’s most dramatic landscape, Glencoe, which was used as the backdrop for some much-loved scenes in Harry Potter. Your guide will also regale you with the real, heart-breaking history of the glen.

Charlie was very kind and amazing as a tour guide, enjoyed the whole journey.
It’s a long day but the guide/bus driver, Connor, fills the day with information and stories. The Jacobite train is the highlight.
Connor was an amazing driver and tour guide
Great day, loved Connor’s stories(guide). He was very informative and good sense humour. Scenery was outstanding.
It was a great experience. I became a beauty in 7 seconds!!
Great tour! Tiegan was amazing, we enjoyed the trip and we even liked the background music :)
WENDI our guide who drove us to and from train stations was FANTASTIC!! Very knowledgeable, great driver, clear instructions, funny. She MADE THETRIP! !
Actually a super excursion. Of course, you sit in the tour bus for a very long time. This was cooled down by the air conditioning to a perceived 5 degrees at an outside temperature of 18 degrees. Even informing the driver only brought limited improvement. We bought sweaters on the way. Unfortunately, we only drove past the viaduct on the way there. The trip on the Hogwarts Express was dreamily beautiful. The other chosen stops were also well selected, with the exception of the last stop - here there was only a shop and a 40-minute stay. We would have preferred to stop longer somewhere else. The tour guide was nice and entertaining, however, it was often difficult to follow the fast Scottish slang. Nevertheless, a very beautiful and successful excursion, which we can recommend to everyone!
Alistair was an outstanding tour guide – entertaining, knowledgeable, and engaging! The views were beautiful, but the drive was really long. It is a shame that the exploration breaks were much too short – we would have liked more time here. Nevertheless, recommended thanks to Alistair!
A must-do tour with can't miss sights. Of course the train is once in a lifetime, but even all of the middle bits are unique and fantastic as well. Our guide Allistair was top-notch and ensured this rather long trip was enjoyable and well paced. Extremely professional, cheerful, knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend.
