Fantastic!

Our captain and guide, Kate, was very knowledgeable and friendly. We saw seals, geological formations, the shot tower, lots of birds, caves, the tip of Bruny Island, Betsy Island and the Iron Pot Lighthouse. Kate's commentary was very informative and passionate. We were supplied with blankets, as it was quite chilly, softdrinks available (included in the price) and a toilet available to use. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip!

Operator response

Thank you for your wonderful review, Linda! We’re delighted you enjoyed exploring the Derwent and its fascinating wildlife, coastline and history. Kate will be thrilled to hear how much you enjoyed their friendly, knowledgeable commentary. It’s great to know the blankets helped keep you comfortable too. Thank you for travelling with us! Cheers Melinda

Iron Pot Lighthouse

It was a great cruise. Started with being shown from the boat, Battery Point. Casino, some wealthy homes. The school Queen Mary used to go to. Some caves, rock formations and how some disintegrate over time, which includes the caves losing rock over time. Went as far as seeing Bruny Island from a distance. Saw some seals and finally the lighthouse. The oldest in Australia. It wasn’t tall as some but impressive. The tour lasted 2.5 hours. With doing.

Operator response

Dear Kathy Thank you for your great review! We’re so pleased you enjoyed the cruise and the variety of sights along the way—from Battery Point and the coastline to the caves, wildlife and, of course, the Iron Pot Lighthouse. It’s fantastic to hear how much you appreciated the history and natural features of the area—there’s so much to take in along this stretch of coast. We’re glad you could spot some seals too! Thanks again for joining us—we hope to welcome you back for another cruise in the future. Cheers Melinda

Knowledgeable guide, and...

Knowledgeable guide, and a comfortable boat. Fascinating! Depending on the weather, it can be very bumpy, and wrap up well if you want to take photos from the decks.

You’ve also given great advice—conditions can change so rugging up is always a good idea for those keen to spend time out on deck.
