Haunted Memphis Walking Ghost Tour

The night we went the weather was perfect. It was a very small group. Our guide did a great job. Loved the history he told us.

This tour gave a great intro to Memphis's history along with the ghost stories. Our time with Daniel was packed with recommendations for hidden gems to visit during our stay in the city. He clued us in to restaurants and other attractions... several of which we visited and he didn't steer us wrong! I also liked that Daniel talked about the historical research behind the stories he was telling and differentiated the evidence from the theories. It was fascinating to learn what has been actually documented versus what might just be a tall tale. The 90-minute tour length was just perfect (not too long of a commitment but enough time to really get some good detail). The walking was not too strenuous and it seemed like the stories could easily be adapted to make them a little less graphic if there were kids on the tour. Excellent value (low price compared to other tours of this kind) and the check-in desk was very easy to find. I believe this is always a small group tour but we ended up having a private tour all to ourselves. Highly recommend this tour as a way to get historical context of the city sights (and some goosebumps as well).

We had a great time with Sheena learning about Memphis history and nice sprinkles of ghosty-ness throughout. It was a hot night but we got drinks at the meeting location prior to leaving (highly recommend) and set out on our walking tour. I loved all the stories and some of the locations were very beautiful. I didn't pick up anything in my pictures or videos but it was a fun time and I would definitely recommend.

This was the most disappointing ghost tour I have ever been on. There were very few ghost stories and some untruths told (Elvis did not make his first recording at 16, Ray Charles was not arrested at the Earnestine and Hazels, or even in Memphis, and the Hotel Pontotoc is not a 5 star hotel). Additionally, I prefer personal politics to be left out of any paid entertainment. I am spending my time and money to learn about the city, not about the guide’s personal political opinions. I have also never been on a tour that leaves you abandoned on the street when you are not familiar with the area. The tour guide offered to point us in the right direction to get back and quickly left when we got to the location of his parked car, about a 20 minute walk from where we started. I would unfortunately never recommend this tour to anyone.

Daniel was great providing not only ghost tales but also a little overall history. I have to say the last stop gave us all the chills. I took video and picture there and captured some pretty disturbing images and a crazy laugh followed by a scream on video. Great time and very informative ghost tour with Daniel, he loves his city and holds deep appreciation for the local community. Will definitely come back and visit. The price was fair for the quality tour and the walk was not too strenuous.

She went above and beyond, and she is a huge reason I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Memphis. If you take this tour, I highly recommend going with Sheena. She is an outstanding guide and made the entire experience unforgettable. Definitely a 5-star experience!
