Itinerary

Peggy's Cove
60 min

Your 4-hour private tour starts right from the Halifax Cruise Terminal or your hotel in the city. We’ll hit the road for a scenic 50-minute drive toward Peggy’s Cove, passing through peaceful fishing villages, quiet lakes, and stretches of stunning coastal views along the way. It’s the kind of drive where you’ll want to just sit back, relax, and take it all in. Our first stop is the star of the show — Peggy’s Cove. You’ll spend about an hour exploring this tiny, postcard-perfect village. It feels like a place where time stands still, with colourful homes perched on the rocks, fishing boats in the harbour, and the salty Atlantic breeze in the air. Of course, we’ll visit the iconic lighthouse — one of the most photographed spots in Canada — standing proudly on giant granite rocks with the waves crashing below. You’ll have time to wander the rocks, snap a few unforgettable photos, visit local gift shops, and just enjoy the peaceful vibe of the place.

Fairview Lawn Cemetery
15 min

After your visit to Peggy’s Cove, we’ll head back toward Halifax — a drive of about 45 minutes — and stop at one of the most poignant sites in the city: the Titanic Victims Cemetery, officially known as Fairview Lawn Cemetery. Halifax played a significant role in the aftermath of the Titanic disaster, as it was the closest major port to where the ship sank. Here, you'll spend around 15 minutes walking among the graves of over 120 victims, including crew members, passengers from all classes, and even one grave marked only as “The Unknown Child.” Your guide will share moving stories and historical context that bring this place to life in a respectful and memorable way.

Halifax Citadel National Historic Site
Admission included20 min

After visiting the Titanic Cemetery, your next stop is Citadel Hill, officially known as Fort George. This historic star-shaped fortress has stood guard over Halifax since 1749 and has played a key role in the city’s military past. Built by the British to protect the harbor from naval threats, it was never actually attacked, but it remains a powerful symbol of Halifax’s strategic importance. As you explore inside, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time. You can walk along the thick stone walls and grassy ramparts, see the old cannons, and even hear the echo of the noon-time gun, which is still fired daily by a costumed re-enactor. Inside the barracks and tunnels, you’ll learn about the daily lives of soldiers, see historical displays, and get a sense of how Halifax was defended during both peace and war. The elevated location also offers breathtaking 360-degree views over downtown Halifax, the harbour, and beyond — a must for photos.

Halifax Waterfront Boardwalk
30 min

After spending around 30 minutes at the Citadel, your final stop is the Halifax Waterfront Boardwalk, one of the longest urban boardwalks in the world and a favorite spot for both visitors and locals. Stretching nearly 4 kilometers along the harbor, it’s lined with quaint shops, cafes, local artisans, museums, and food stalls. You can see historic ships in the harbor, watch sailboats glide by, and maybe even spot a seal in the water. The boardwalk is the perfect place to end your tour — lively, scenic, and full of energy. You’ll be dropped off here if you’d like to continue exploring on your own, or we can return you to your original pickup point, whether it’s the cruise terminal or your hotel. This final stretch of the tour gives you a taste of Halifax’s modern charm, paired perfectly with the history you’ve discovered earlier in the day. Important Note: The remaining Hours will be allotted for the travel time from pick up until drop off.

Halifax

Our favorite part of the tour was Peggy’s Cove. It is a charming fishing village with a wonderful historic lighthouse. We also enjoyed the public gardens. The flowers were beautiful even through the pouring rain. The citadel was interesting and our driver timed it so we were there for the firing of the cannon at noon as well as changing of the guard and the playing of the bagpipes. We had a great tour.

Operator response

Fantastic tour with Zamir!!!

The best part of our cruise was our amazing tour with Zamir! He is extremely knowledgeable, kind and fun and we felt so safe with him. We learned so many interesting things about Nova Scotia and its history and wonderful people. The 50 minute ride to Peggys cove Zamir shared stories of points of interest all a long the way. He was amazing. He also knows all the great places to take pictures and he took some fun and beautiful pics of us at Peggys Cove. Enroute to the Titanic cemetery he shared a wealth of knowledge and stories of the Titanic that were incredible! As well as our visit to the citadel he explained the important things as well as sharing the little things that were so interesing and fun We would highly recommend spending the day with him. Thanks Again Zamir!!

Operator response

Thank you so much for this wonderful review! It truly means a lot to me. I also want to say how much I enjoyed spending the day with you! Being a tour guide is not only about showing beautiful places or sharing history—it’s also about the people we meet along the way. When you have guests who are friendly, curious, enthusiastic, and genuinely enjoying the experience, it makes the whole day more enjoyable for the guide too. Great guests really do make our lives better and remind us why we love what we do! I’m so happy that the highlights of the day became such special memories from your cruise. It was an absolute pleasure sharing a little piece of Nova Scotia with you. Thank you again for choosing me as your guide and for making the day memorable for me as well. I hope our paths cross again someday! 😊🇨🇦

Wonderful tour!

Zamir was amazing! He was professional, on time, car was very clean and he even had bottled water and rain ponchos for us. The weather was not ideal for our limited time in Halifax, but Zamir had so much information to offer us and was flexible with what we wanted to do that the rain did not damper our tour in the slightest! I would highly recommend booking this tour and I would book with Zamir again if we ever come back to Halifax.

Operator response

Wishing you all the very best and many more amazing travels ahead! — Zamir

Excellent private tour of Halifax by Zamir. I appreciate the flexibility, as we had a stop we wanted to do that was not on the typical beaten path, and it was no problem at all. Zamir has a deep knowledge and love for Halifax and Atlantic Canada and it shows in his narration. Highly recommended.

Halifax tour

Peggy’s Cove was beautiful and the cemetery was very interesting. Unfortunately, this was a private tour but our guide mostly drove. I have been on other private tours and the guides were interactive talking and giving information the whole time. This didn’t happen so the trip was disappointing.

Operator response

Hi Paula, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I’m really sorry to hear that the tour didn’t meet your expectations. It’s great to know you enjoyed Peggy’s Cove and the Titanic Cemetery, but I completely understand how disappointing it must have been to not get the commentary and interaction you were expecting—especially on a private tour. Rizwan was your guide that day, and he’s usually good at sharing stories and keeping the tour engaging, so I’m quite surprised to hear this. I’ll be following up with him to understand what happened, as this definitely isn’t the kind of experience we want our guests to have. I truly appreciate you letting us know, and I hope we get a chance to make it up to you in the future.
