Got lost and gave up

Guide seems to know what he's talking about but there are no effective directions. His talking points last much longer than the time it takes to walk from one point to another so I wound up sitting down a lot. He didn't say at the end of each talking point "go to this particular landmark, which should be right in front of you and I"ll meet you there." I didn't feel like I was being guided at all. Got lost and bored and abandoned the trip after five or six stops.
